I am going insane. We were approved from CIS on October 10th for our I130 and as of today still no case received by NVC. Is anybody out there that is still waiting for their case number from NVC after 5 weeks??? We are going insane. My husband finally called our congressman yesterday and faxed our approval notice to him and he will look into it. this seems to go on and on. I am loosing hope. Is there a special time or day that would be best to call and see if they have received our case...
Please need advice!!!!

I normally get a very conceise and pleasant NVC live operator between 7:30-8AM EST. It's always best to call them. Have you called USCIS and ask if they were transported to NVC site yet?

I'm thinking that your petition is already at the Embassy, and they will contact you soon. I've been calling the recorded message at NVC with no word of arrival. So, I spoke with an operator there, and he told me our case was already forwarded to the Embassy. I am hoping this is what is happening with us.....Good Luck!

The OP is a Immigrant visa and has to go thru NVC processing prior to it being send to their embassy.

For the OP most petitions at this time are taking 5+ weeks for NVC to acknowleged being received.
They are still backlogged with the "fee beaters".

Thanks gus for your nice words. With it being a 130 approval it has to go through certain step at NVC before they can send it to the embassy. My husband finally called our congressman in georgia on thursday and they requested the approval notice via fax and called him last friday and said they were on it.
It cant be this much longer. I was hoping after almost 6 weeks we would be almost through with the whole process at the NVC and it could continue to the embassy, but I did hear that it takes longer right now because of all the petitions they received before June and July.
I was just hoping to be home by christmas. But no hurry...I just gave birth to our second child here in Germany on October 29th and I was last week at the consulat for him to get his american birthcertificate abroad and now we have to wait for his amerian passport as well.
I hope things are going well for everybody else....
by the way is the NVC closed on thursday AND FRIDAY next week??? or just Thursday?

No, it can not be at the Embassy now. For CR-1/IR-1 process, NVC needs somepaperwork from the petitioner and beneficiary before they complete the process and send the whole packet to the Embassy. NV process takes about 3 months.

Wes&Steffi, you should talk to the NVC operator regularly and inquire about your case number. If you change your address, you should notify NVC immediately.
