My family ( i am the us citizen) always makes a pretty big deal about birthdays,,,,contrary to what I have read in the threads about 'Kano's on Visa Journey.ANYway..............there is not really any Pinoy restaurant around but my hubby likes chinese food a lot so I am gonna treat him and my family to that. at a real nice restaurant. I would like some suggestions of how to make it special for him (I am able to order cake from the Pinoy store ahead of time...............like an ube cake, a mango cake, etc. any other suggestions???any traditional things? I cant afford the lechon (it costs over 225.00 us here)and my parents dont eat pork LOL. He insists he doesnt want anything except some KFC (kentuck yfried chicken) LOL! but it is his first bday in american and I want him to be happy and to feel special. thanks

while this is a bit generic to hear, and presumptious of me to speak for men in general, i think most men just want some extra attention, a nice dinner with drinks and alot of loving at the end of the night.

filipino, japanese, american, hispanic, european, australian etc etc etc

Men just want you to fuss over them alittle, have a great meal and and then jer jer na ta!

he will have the best birthday ever because its with you.

How about giving him a breakfast in bed with a jer jer as a dessert? devil.gif tongue.gif (joke!)..yep breakfast in bed then ask and take him to church , we filipinos love to go to church first thing before we celebrate, it's his day and let him choose and get all he wants. Take a lots of pics too!!

Happy birthday to your hubby!! smile.gif

P.S.
You are a sweet wifey... luv.gif luv.gif good.gif

Well let see...

Does he like sports? car racing, etc? I will suggest to get him and you tickets to any sports events or anything that he would like. You are a sweet wifey and having your family around will make his day and him feel extra special, however there is nothing more special or sweeter than just you and him together spending the time on one of his favorite thing to do. Men from our country will have a great time experiencing a live event like basketball games, or any sports, etc that they used to watch from TV back home in Pinas. Let me know, since I might use your experience when my hubby's bday comes around.
