My wife has an expired I-94 but has applied for and received her EAD with the adjustment of status package. Is she elligible to get a social security number with her EAD even though she is out of status with her expired I-94??
EAD indicates work authorization... If one is work authorized one is eligible for SSN

Yes, she can get a SSN with the EAD. She is not out of status. The I-94 expired, but she is pending adjustment. Time after the AOS is filed is not out of status time. If she were out of status she would not have received the EAD.
