Touch = When a employee of USCIS handles your file. They have to "sign" for your file and that will show up on the computer as a "touch". Don't use this term when you call them because they don't have a clue that we call them "touches".

Torch = A fire on a stick or a flashlight if you are English.

Hello sweetlove,
I see you filed your I-130 in April and are still waiting for approvals. I hope your approval is here very soon! How you know if you were "touched" is by logging on to the USCIS website and you will see your receipt numbers and the applications you have pending with USCIS. Where it shows last updated column you will see dates. When USCIS scans your application the date will change in the column of "last updated." The touches could mean a variety of different reasons. By you telephoning them to get an update on your application or if USCIS is processing information on your case. (Which really could be anything but, you only know they have looked at your case for some reason) You could see every day your case has been updated or nothing at all to get an approval. We have seen both cases on our journey. Each case is truely different! Speaking of our applications I believe we may hold the world record on touches. But, no approval yet... mad.gif Anyhow, I hope this helps answers your question..
Good luck and I hope your approvals are released soon!!!
