My wife will be crossing from the detroit/windsor border around Thanksgiving time. She will be handing over the k3 document package. This is the first time she is crossing after she received her K3 VISA from Montreal consulate. Should she be watching out for anything? Does she need any extra documents? We are trying to avoid any trouble while she hand over the documents. The border guys can get pretty pesky for no reason at times (as evident of my crossing just yesterday, got checked and pulled into office for nothing). We do not want any troubles or delays while she hands this over. Any inputs?

Thank you
MissStacey
As long as she has her Passport with the Visa and her unopened envelope from the Consulate- she should be just fine. When crossing by land, there is a $6.00 fee for the I-94.

I guess my concern is that are they going to question her about anything for no reason because of the VISA? They tend to do that a lot >:(

We went through enough questioning at the Interview- that was the hard part. smile.gif Most of us Canadians have had great POE experiences. My POE was at the Edmonton Airport- all I had to do was sit in the back room for 10 minutes after the Customs officer took all my stuff and then wait for him to call me when it was done. I got a "Welcome to the US" he handed me my passport with the stapled I-94 and I was off.

You can also post this in the Canada forum, or ask one of the Mods to move it there. There are many there who did cross at Windsor and will tell you more about their experience there.
