NSC is doing good--anybody in CSC? i mailed mine a few days ago---it was just received today

I send out my N-400 to VSC on 18, Nov via Express Mail, they just received 3:00 PM 19, Nov. Hopfully, my check will be cashed soon.

Anyone received a receipt notice for November 2007 filers??????

I am still waiting. They were processing applications received Nov 7 last monday so I am hoping mine was processed this weel or will be processed soon.

I wonder if the fact that my I751 has been pending for more than 18 month will get in the way of my N400. I am very concerned about that and nobody can give me a good answer.

Maybe it will speed up your I-751, now that your filing for N-400. I'm hoping to received my Notice anytime soon. My I-751 is approved and got my 10 yrs Green Card, hopefully they'll process my N-400 smoothly.

Good, they are giving you approximaly 8 months to be notified ( a lot better than the 18 months or so they announced in the news).

Today I received the NOA for the N400 appl.

It says that I should be notified of my data and interview place within 180 days of this notice. That means that by June of next year I should have my interview date.

When do they send the biometrics NOA?

I don't know about the biometrics NOA...

It probably depends on how busy the local office is compared to others. My local office is Cleveland.

By the way, I thought there would have been more people that apply on Nov but so far it has been about 5 or 6 posters including us. Maybe the fact that the fees are so steep now is stopping people from applying?

Mine is Salt Lake City. It's very possible.

Watch out the wordings carefully!! It said " You will be notified of your data and interview place within 180 days of this notice." It did not say you will get interview in no more than 180 days! You will get interview NOA appointment letter within 180 days! The actual interview date might be much longer than 180 days. My I-797 NOA of N-400 has similar wording but it is 100 days, not 180 days. Do not be optimistic about 180 days. That is what I am telling you. Wish you luck...

Mime is 100 days. USCIS is trying to be as fair as possible. They honor the date they received your application. It is called PRIORITY DATE. Some people called it TOUCHED date. No mater when your check cashed or when you get your NOA, priority date will be the order of process.
My priority date is 09/21 2007. That is why mime is 100 days to get 2nd NOA - Interview date notice.

Yes. It is NOA2 - ASC Appointment Notice. It is something you have for your I-751.
I am expecting to receive NOA2 soon. Your priority date is behind me. Do not worry, I will post it once I got it.

Do you know which Civic Test we have to study? The new Test or the old test?

It depends on when your interview date is scheduled for. I believe the new test will make its debut sometime in October of next year (I think I read somewhere in the USCIS site). If the timeline of 14 - 18 months given to the media is correct then we will probably be tested using the new test.

mine was touched same date, is it coincidence or some planned action of sending out let's hope biometric letters? like i noticed all NOA1s were sent around same time

Fingerprint notification was received today. The scheduled date is 12.31.07 at 11AM. If I am unable to attend I can go every Wednesday at the same time as long as it is before 3.24.08.

Hopefully everything else will move as quickly.

Based on my understanding, that we have an option of taking the redesigned test or current one for those applicants who file prior to October 1, 2008 but are not interviewed until after October 1, 2008 (but before October 1, 2009), correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm quite confused which English Civics test I'm going to study, the redesigned test or current one, anyone?

I guess I still fall under November .

Good! Mine is coming soon. I've been using lotion everyday on my hands so that problems with fingerprinting will be minimized. Getting my firgerprints correctly or with a good score take several tries.

I just came back from my biometrics appt. Hopefully everything will be smooth sailing but I am a little concern as the quality of my fingerprints didn't seem to score too high. We'll see.

Now I was wondering if somebody get an idea on how long it takes to receive the Bio appt letter, get the interview at the NY office and so on.
I am afraid that the NY office is totally suffocating under the mass of N400...

I wish to be in Nebraska....

Another update in my N400 Application. I received my NOA3 - Interview Letter. My interview is going to be on March 4 at 9:40 AM. I am going to start compiling all the documents required in the letter.
I am so excited. It is happening really fast. I better start reading the material given to me during the biometrics appt.

I'm waiting for my interview notice also. It sure gives you over a month to study.

WHen i was applying for visa in 2004 the fastest was Vermont, then CA, TX and Nebraska

now it seems opposite way - the fastest is Nebraska-Cal-Texas-Vermont

What documents are they asking about?

From the Interview Document Check List: I need to bring the following (pretty much all of it is standard documents that you may have submitted with the application)
- Permanent Card
- Gov Issued ID
- Not required but recommended to bring 2 passport style photos
- If name is different than the one in Permanent Card, bring doc that changed the name
- Proof that my spouse is a USC for at least 3 years (Passport, Birth Certificate, Naturalization Certificate)
- Marriage Certificate
- If married before, proof of termination or prior marriages.
- Original IRS Form 1722 listing tax info for the past 3 years OR Copies of Income Tax forms filed for last three years
- Proof or Marital Union and residence (here is where I guess I need to put together some papers to show that our marriage is for real?)
- If you have children, certified copies of birth certificates for all children born in USA

There are other things that you may need to bring but that don't apply to me such as
- FORM N426 and G325B if applying based on Military
- If travelled outside US for 6 months or more you need to show evidence that you did not abandon your resindence and Original IRS1722 for the last 5 years.
- Proof that you are complying with child support if applicable.
- Any arrest information you may have
- Any conviction info you may have
- Information about overdue taxes, if any
- Proof of being registered with Selective Service.

Nebraska is fast, but after Service Center is done with case - interview date depends on Field Office, which are much busier in bigger cities

so from what i've read on forums, less dence areas seem to keep the old good 6-7 month length like Richie (considering Oath taken in May)

for more densely populated areas - it is 9-10 month till interview and 10-12 months till oath and passport., so i expect my interview be scheduled around July-August and Oath around August-September i guess, but that's still shorter then January 2009 given in my Noa1.
