RICHIE:
It seems like they are moving along for you as well. What was the waiting time they gave you in your NOA? I Can't remember if you posted that. Mine is 180 days but as you know interview will be in less than a month. I better start studying! One more question: You mentioned that your online status didn't change with your interview date but did it change after the fingerprints were taken? Mine still reads 12.04, which I guess is when the fingerprint appt was sent.

Were you already in SLC 90 days when you filed or did you file in OK City and then move? I am thinking of moving to an area serviced by NSC, but we have already filed in California and I don't know what the rules are about that. I mean I don't know if you have to be in the new area 90 days before they can act on an existing application.

No I moved and was in Salt lake city 90 days before I filed for N-400.
Hence I filed in NSC.
I only filed I-751 in TSC cos I was in Oklahoma city then.

I don't think you need to worry. A lot of us have the same problem. On one step of this long, long process our on-line information was out there but never updated, and at the Removal of Conditions step it worked perfectly. Go figure.

Back in January I submitted a request to my congresswoman to inquire about my pending I-751 application. I thought they never looked into it until today. Her office called me today to tell me that my I-751 application was approved on March 13th and that card production depended on when the Cleveland office sent my file back to Nebraska. She said that se was going to call the Cleveland office to inquire about the I-751 final step and the status of my N-400. In the afternoon, she called me back to let me know that I may received my 10 year green card soon and that my naturalization application was approved!! She said that N400 approval is in the queue for sending the Oath letter and that I should receive it within 30 - 60 days. I am so happy that this is almost over. I can't wait to have the naturalization papers with me. The most important thing is that I will be able to vote in the November elections!!

Just finished my interview today, only lasted for 10 minutes. The officer was very nice. He only asked for my passport, State ID and my Green Card.
The questions are:
Name the two Senators in the state.
Where is the White House located?
What are some of the basic beliefs of the Declaration of Independence?
What are the two major political parties in the United States today?
In what month is the new President inaugurated?
What is the legislative branch in the government?

Richie, August seems like a ways away for an April interview. Give your federal court in your area a call to find out when they offer the oath. You might be able to get it then. We found out that Tallahassee's oath dates are scheduled only 4 times a year, so my husband's next available date after his interview is the Fourth of July.

Yeah u may be right. I'm not really in a hurry so I'll just wait. I'm not planning to travel international and I have my 10yrs green card so I guess its ok if the oath ceremony is August. But who knows maybe it will be sooner than later.

There's an oath ceremony here on August 15 and one on September 12, I'm hoping he can make the August 15 one because we're traveling overseas October 1 and it'd suck to have to pay the extra $$$ to expedite the passport. But at my office you can take the oath in person at USCIS if you formally request it in writing instead of doing it during the mass ceremony.

Each office has its own policy that's an agreement with the local US District Court (since the court conducts the ceremony). My local office normally has an oath ceremony every 90 days (they've added more this year due to the increased applications) and you can take the oath at the USCIS instead if (a) there's no ceremony scheduled in the next 45 days after your approval or (2) you request it in writing explaining why. (There's no right or wrong answer why, you just need some explanation.)

Hi guys,
I finally got my IL today, with an interview date for 09/24/08....close to the 10 months time frame after the filling date.
I do believe that for the one who are close to the 10 months mandatory response (senate directive) you should make a phone inquiry.
When you read carefully their response they say:
" you are in queue...you will be place in the next slot available"
I would not put it pass the USCIS to give priority to the people complaining and potentially gathering evidence to sue them.
Hope that all of you get your IL soon.
meanwhile get to prepare the interview.
