I am a bit confused. After 2 years on the CR1 visa, I have to change to the 10 year green card right? Is this considered AOS, with a fee of $1010, or is is something else with a different fee?

Please help. Trying to estimate all the additional fees I will incur in the CR1 route.

Ninety days before the green card expires you will have to file an I-751 form to remove it's conditional status.

CR-1 visa is a one time visa, upon entry you become a conditional LPR and hold a 2 year green-card, the visa is voided upon entry.

NO this is called lifting of conditions, there is no AOS from conditional to unconditional green-card, your status is already LPR.

Great! Thanks guys! I see that the AOS fee is $1010, 90 days after my husband enters the US on a K3 visa, and then in 2 years we have to lift conditions with the I-751 which is another $545 to get the 10 year GC. Yikes thats alot of money!

But with the CR1 visa, my husband enters the US and then has to life conditions within 2 years at a cost of $545. Thats alot better to me. I guess I am just getting anxious with how long the service centers are taking to receipt I-130's. I have to exercise more patience.

This is a big reason to not do K-3, K-3 cannot work until they have EAD either. CR-1 allows the IMMIGRANT to work as soon as they arrive into the USA because they get a Green-Card upon entry.
