Hello fellow VJers,

i posted earlier regarding the recorded message from NVC stating that they found something missing and it was the original marriage certificate. We decided to just send in my original copy of the marriage certificate, and today when calling them, the automated response system stated that "we received the checklist response on November 7th, 2007..."...does this mean they are reviewing the paperwork again? or what exactly? and for those who have had an RFE with their DS-230...how long does it usually take to complete review and to get the case complete message? any information would be greatly appreciated! smile.gif thanks biggrin.gif

Hi,

That message just means they have it - haven't necessarily looked at it yet. They will review it of course, if they now have everything they need the message won't change until you get case complete.

From what I have seen in terms of time from DS-230 review to complete it's somewhere between 5 days and 2 weeks.

Good luck!

Do you think that while they are awaiting me to return the rfe for I-864, there will be any changes on the automated system in regards to the DS 230? Or will I have to wait until they receive the RFE for I-864 for them to continue reviewing the DS 230?
I'm hoping they're still reviewing the DS 230 and that the whole case isn't on "standstill."

I hear you. In my experience - they completed the review/accepted our I-864 before the DS-230 was complete - so I'm pretty sure they keep working on the file until it gets to the point where they are just waiting for information from you. Then it goes for a final review.

Hang tight shouldn't be long now!
