Dont pay attention to those fools at USCIS, most of them couldnt even tell you their own name if it wasnt in the computer system with their agent ID. Last time they told me i needed to wait 9-10 months more for an approval, and another 6 months to get a visa, pretty much they told me its a 2 year process. Im on 5 months now and I know that if they dont do anything soon I will be moving to Brazil. Alls fair though, one of us had to give up our life, it makes no difference to me if I go there or she comes here. Im not to happy about being poor though

that part will be awful, and im not sure if she will let me be a stripper as I can not work there on a tourist visa

hahahahha
I know what you mean. I might be moving too
LOL... shrewdgal.. did u call uscis? or did u maange to get thru VSC.. usin RFE... cuz USCIS can tell u watever we dnt need to rely on it unles it was told to u by the officer at vSc.. remember i called last friday and she told me to wait one more month for my approval since i filed in october... :/
yeah my lady wasnt much help
I dont think I have ever felt so hopeless in a process
how do you guys do it?

I am on my sixth month, I always kept a hope that my approval would come b4 this day.. it was the worst one yet

I think the more approvals i see from ppl that filed way after oct coupled with the small amounts of approvals coming out of VSC..its made me so discouraged.
I hate to check for a touch anymore
Let's think well.. i dont want to wait another 2-3 months! Any suggestions?????
kityyyy even im on 6months now!!!!!!!! watt.. this is the worst feelin i thought i would DEFINATELY get it before 6 months!! its so SAD!! i hope we get approved this week.. im gona wait another month liek th eoficer said .. and then lets see what happens .... i hate seeing others aproved after me, it realy gets me more depressed... honestly.. ya hapines to them.. they get to be with their spousee soon.. but i have no idea wheni can be with my husbanddd

Omg.. we'll have to do something soon! I know Shrewdie is close to the 6th month mark too

Girl I was so stressed, I'm sorta upset with my husband and getting gray hair from this process

. It's not his fault, but I dont know what to say anymore.. he dosent ask about it, but I'd like to be able to give him good news. He told me a few wks ago to just forget about this for awhile until I can feel better. He made me feel good, but really this is not right. And a few days ago a thought came to me... I should have divorced him and then i can file for K-1 and he'd be here so quick

Desperate matters bring about desperate thoughts

How does your hubby handle it?
oh my gosh! I just told me friend that tonight
that we would probably have better luck getting divorced and then engaged! what the crap.
Im so mad!
My husband (in Jamaica) has people there telling him "well, so and so got married and was there in 6 months, blah blah" now- my husband knows I am doing all I can but he doesnt understand the stress of it and why it is taking us so long.
Omg, u too Shrewdie? The same thing is happening to my husband too. Even ppl from here are saying .. ohh it dosent take that long! I brought my wife she was here in two months

I said.. when was that????? Things change! His brother got married and expecting and my husband still waiting.

THANKS EVERYONE. Now I just have to figure out what to do next. My local office is Montreal for the interview so who knows how long i'll have to wait for that to be scheduled. But at least I'm one step closer!

There is James' Shortcuts if u want to start familiarizing urself with them and the process itself. You can then decide if you'd like to use them or not. Also there is the NVC threads, it will be a few wks for NVC to get ur case.. so this is how u can start getting ready. Good luck on the rest of your journey

I would like to start this thread for those who filed I-130 in October and November. We sent our I-130 on October 1st still didn't get NOA. With all this processing time delays published by USCIS it seems like it is going to take a long long very long time for us to get NOA.
Don't be hopeless.. Check out my timeline..
I sent my I-130 on 5-19-07 to the Vermont Office
Notice of Receipt was on 5-21-07
Notice of Approval was on 6-7-07
I didn't request no Expedite service.. I also I sent my application via Priority Mail only..
Today I just got my IV Fee Bill of $380.. After paying this, I am going to be on my last step which is the DS230..

Hi, hannyperez
My CR-1 timeline is very similar to yours. I have not had a touch since 02/19/2008. I had a few touches in Feb, but I think there was due to K3 receieved. I'm beginning to worry as more and more Nov filers are getting approve. I hope ours will come soon.

To be honest I dont know what to tell you, Its strange how they have their filing system. Maybe thats why the FIFO system isnt working, who knows. I have been told by an officer that the in date shows the 24th of January but the date they use for processing is Nov. 19th. If that is what they told your congressman though who knows whats going on. Very frustrating indeed. Dont get to worked up over it though. The one thing that they are consistent about is inconsistency. But it would be very difficult to make the leap to them using the in date as the process date. Some people are just luckier than others. Maybe when you hit that 6 month mark you can send in your NOA1 to your congressman and show that they accepted your pettition in Oct. At the same time perhaps send them a printed page from the USCIS website saying that they will use the accepted at date VS the NOA1 date. While we can not do anything to assist ourselves in this situation sometimes its better to think that we are doing something. Besides it doesnt hurt to try again with your congressman making sure to show that you are at the 6 month mark. Yesterday you asked a question "how do you guys do it?", you already know the answer because your right here with us doing it. Your stronger than you think and we are here to help you become stronger in knowing your not alone. And if your going to cry dont curl up and cry , have one of those good walking around the house cries, you know the one where you cry so much your still doing the dishes, laundry, taxes, and making a birthday cake for a relative because you know it will be a couple of hours before you stop crying

. Might even feel a bit better

Shrewdy.. I aggree with Jason.. u need to fax a copy of your NOA1 to ur congressperson. This will show them the "received date" which is the date u filed back in October and this is the date that USCIS is honoring too. I dont know why or if its not reflecting on the system or simply they just passed the buck and gave the january date. But u know when u filed and u will show your evidence. Also I want to point out another thing... Your filing date is Oct 30.. technically you have not passed the 180 days (6 months) yet. They might get technical on u, as there is 12 more days to go. Maybe u might wait a few more days b4 faxing ur noa1. I am on my 181th day.. so im getting ready to do something here...

I dont understand USCIS at all, but on the other hand congrats to the Dec. filer, they only had to wait 4 months. I wish that was the case for all of us. And USCIS says backlog, well i fyou have so much backlog where did you get the Dec file from

. Atleast some people dont suffer as much as others. This process can be very detrimental to the people going through it. In fact it is one of the hardest things I have had to do and I have had some tough things to deal with before.
Well besides that how is everyone today? Anyone else have this strange attraction to their email, VJ.com, and USCIS and by attraction I mean addiction?

Yeah I have to admit my production at work has gone down since I started this process. Started when I didnt get my NOA1 for a long time so I would always check their delay updates to see if I should be looking in my mail for NOA1 or not. Then after Feb. 24th when I could see my case online and signed up for email notification I was checking email ,USCIS, and VJ atleast 20 times a day

Not sure why I even bother to look really, never had any touches at all. Same update day of 2/24/2008, **Sigh** Our day will come, and when it does I hope I dont have a heart attack, I never get email so the other day I had 2 messages and I was like please be USCIS, please be USCIS, darn youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu best buy!!!!!! The only way to get any information the correct way (no RFE line calls) seems to be making and Info pass appointment. Who knows if or what information they have but that seems to be the only way to get information about your case. I am curious to know what happens in an infopass appointment , do they know what stage you are in on your application, can they see what has been done already and what is still needed, or do they only see a screen that says you filed an application on such and such date. I have 2 offices that are about the same distance for me, one in D.C. and one in Norfolk. I would have to take time off from work to go but if i thought they might be able to provide some more information other than what the 1-800 number has i think i might be tempted to do it.

I HAD AN infopass appt in sept when i relaized i sent the wrong fee ( at this point no noa1) so went to infopass in houston and oficer said we have to start over there was realy nothin he looked up ( maye cuz i wasnt in system yet since itw as takin 90 days to get noa1) so she gave me new forms to use to refill out after receivin the rejection notice for my incorrect fee... so i waitied got it in oct and started again in oct.. no help
but maybe if u r far along in ur time and u have receopt numebr prob they can see somethin.. i have no idea..

And as with all of the service centers, they do not take phone calls, all calls need to be transfered from the USCIS 1-800 number so I cant even get an answer as to what they do or what they can see to know if it is worth missing a day of work to go. USCIS really does like to keep everyone in the dark on things. I suppose they have their reasons.

One other thing while im thinking about it, I think I may have a way to know if your application is being looked at by anyone. The color of your application numbers. If you use the same pc day in and day out to check your application your application number is always purple I never delte cookies or anything also . When something has been looked at or accessed the numbers turn blue. I check my application on my work pc and on my house pc, the numbers are always purple. I just called uscis to see if maybe they have any new info other than blah blah blah Jan 24th we blah blah blah , right after the call, my application number was blue. Any thoughts? Anyone else ever notice the color change? Oh and my application has never been "touched"/updated since it was entered in the system but at random times like after calls, the application number turns blue.

By default, purple means you've accessed the page and blue means the link has not yet been followed. But since you're accessing a web page that does a query to a database, it has no knowledge of the underlying data. Meaning, there is zero connection. (And when I say "by default" I mean if your system is using the default Windows settings.) The color has everything to do with Windows and browser cache and nothing to do with the actual status of your application.

hey guys... read ur posts.. so funny!! Im so hooked, i forget if i checked uscis so i check it again.

All this happened after Feb 24 when they updated and I was able to see my case online

There is too many of us sept/oct filers still anticipating that "touch" or better yet.. our approval!!!
About the Infopass... you might want to research it a bit b4 attempting to do that. I was told that the case can get requested to be mailed to the site u have ur appointment with thus causing further delay and possibility of ur case being misplaced.
On the purple/blue thingie... mine has been blue since the feb 24!!! Never an update.. everytime I check it there is that FEB 24 date

I hate that day now!

oh and it never clears, I know why a link goes back to blue for those reasons, that is why i said i never delete my history or cookies, the cookies are the reason why it is purple because my browser is storing the information of that page but none of the other links changed only the application link.

I just called uscis to see if maybe they have any new info other than blah blah blah Jan 24th we blah blah blah , right after the call, my application number was blue. Any thoughts? Anyone else ever notice the color change?
