Hi Shrewdgal... welcome to the club.. we must be next, I feel it in my bones
lets all pray together that VSC keeps them approvals coming. IF we are approved early april.. i see that NVC is taking about 10 wks give or take a week.. then off to the embassy.. another 6 wks for interview.. then the Visa .. im with your first guesstimate of September which makes it about 10 months process from start to finish if everything goes smoothly.
What do you think Hyd? september or later? Omg, I am praying september!! I miss my husband.
Anybody out there.. what's your guesstimate for us??

I pray you are right about Sept. I am a teacher and I have to sign a contract for the entire year, starting in August. I will be with my husband all summer and will leave him the end of July. The thoughts that I may have to leave him and he wont be any closer to getting here drives me batty.
How mych is the AOS bill?
so let me get this right.
after we get approved we get sent to NVC. we have to do the ds-230 form and pay the AOS bill?
THEN we pay the IV bill?
what all do i need to be getting ready?
I feel like I am unprepared for whatever is next because I was so frustrated with the time it was taking that I had to just stop thinking about it!!!

Hello All!!!!

I am still here rooting for your approvals. Seems like VSC is picking up the pace and October VSC'ers will soon all have NOA2. I read someone asking about guess of completion (visa in hand). I am guessing mine will be in August so you guys should be in September. This is if you plan on using JS. I am getting a bit overwhelmed with the JS stuff cause I'm so scared I'll do something wrong and get a dreaded RFE but still as long as the case is moving its nice.

I hope you all start hearing some good news soon. Until then join us over in the NVC thread....it gets lonely in there sometimes, plus its good to start getting your head fully wrapped around the NVC process now.

I july USCIS will have had a whole year of collecting the increased fees (to help get the process faster???), tho we did not get our money's worth but rather a big headache . I believe as time creeps up they will begin to get the process going a bit faster tho by then we shall be at the embassy . On another thread we'd been thinking of getting signatures of those at VSC near and past the 180 mark as a way to let them know we are overdue. It's been 83 days since my NOA1 .

I've started to dig a little into the NVC process but as u mentioned.. when my head is still stuck on getting the NOA2.. its a little confusing. As far as fees AOS(I-864)=$70, DS-230 (IV Bill)=$400.. never send in the corresponding form until you've confirmed with them that they have received it as it may slow ur process. That's about all I know.

I keep you all in my daily prayers for, being separated from our spouses for such length of time is hard to endure. Enjoy ur time with your hubby, im sure when u get back it wont be long before he's joining you.

Same here, no activity since they entered my case into the system on 2/19/08. It's getting really old really fast.

I still can't believe...i just checked my email and here i see a an email from CRIS...At first I thought it was an RFE since I didn't expect any approval...but it says APPROVAL SENT......OMG....

Congratulations - I've been checking everyday but nothing yet! I hope it will happen soon as I'm here in the US visiting my husband for another 5 days and it would be amazing if it came while we were together - we could celebrate together!

I didn't get any touches since it was entered into their system 2.24.2008...this was my first "touch" and it resulted into an approval...the funny thing is i called USCIS and used the so called RFE trick where you enter your case number in the system and it says something like USCIS is waiting on some documents...and then you press 0 to speak to a vermont operator...but this time when i pressed 0 i was transferred to a USCIS operator because the line said something like there is no Vermont operator who can take your call at this time...to make a long story short I asked the USCIS operator why the processing time went back to July he gave me some excuse and I said ok and then he said if there is anything he can do for me and I said sure "Can you approve my petition" saying it jokingly...he giggled a little and said sorry I can't do that I just can give you information on your case and I said thank you so much it was just a shot...and we both giggled and hung up...and long and behold this afternoon I get an approval notice. I don't want to say that the conversation was the reason i got an approval but what a coincidence....

You know I called the RFE line too and it said something like "USCIS is missing documents...please provide missing documents" It had me going batty cause the operator couldnt see an RFE on my account. So I ended up getting approved 1 week after calling....think I called 2 times (the only 2 times ever) that week. I don't really understand the RFE line...i think it causes lots of confusion. I thought I would get an RFE for using an non-certified wedding cert with my I-130 but they accepted it anyway...woo hoo!!

yaaaa.. an october filer... hmm NEVER seen his posts... whered u find him?

Go to the top of the screen (not the tabs at the very top--but just under the search bar) where it says "Immigration Timelines". From that screen, look at the far left-hand side and you will see "Visa Display Options." Beneath that, there is K1, K3, and CR-1. When you click on each of those, you see all records in the database. You can then filter for just Vermont. After you do that, then you can click on the tops of the columns (the little arrows) to sort the data by date. I sort by the "NOA2" date to see who has received something recently.

I also check in that way to see if there is some new approval.

goshh when will we get approved... we both filed the same date... i bet we should call on april 16 !!! lol and tell them our 6 months is up!

oh Hyd, I am doing the countdown! Yes, I plan to call them too once the 180 days and say where is my approval? I feel like they have maybe 1 adjudicator on the I-130's! Cuz the approvals are just so sparce. Seriously we should start to consider a collection of signatures of those having met the timeline and not have their cases adjudicated yet!

This is rediculous. I have talked to my congressman and it is useless pretty much. What are we going to do guys??? at this rate it could be this time NEXT YEAR that my husband comes home.
