What does it say exactly when you have been "touched"? Does it say 'touched' and does the 'Received and Pending' statement go away and never come back? just wondering how I know that i have been fondled,......Ooops i mean touched. LOL

When you sign up for updates on the USCIS website, if you log on and the date has changed since the last time you logged on, you have been touched. That is an explanation I copied from one of the forums.
Everytime somebody takes a look at your case you get a new date. However sometimes there were no touches at all but case has been approved too. I think lately one of the September petitions was touched everyday for a week and was approved soon after.
Botomline if you register online with USCIS you can watch you case status online. And it is nice to see if somebody has worked on your petition.

How long does it usually take for you to be able to see your case online after you received your NOA1. I received mine on the 1st and still am not able to see my case online. When I called customer service they told me it should take up 2 for 4 weeks for you to be able to see it because the Chicago Lockbox serves only as a "bank" and just process the payment and then they send back the forms to your service center to enter into the system. Does anyone know if this is true. unsure.gif

Some people can see their case really quickly - others sometimes never see their case online. At the moment those of us who have been transferred back to Vermont seem in general to be taking a lot longer to show up online than the California ones. We got our NOA1 on 10th January but still cannot see case online. SusieK has waited even longer - I think it will be at least the end of February before we see anything.

It could take anywhere from INSTANTLY to NEVER. Its really just luck of the draw I think. i was able to get online access instantly but there are people who have never been able to get on until they received their NOA2, so i think it could take 2-4 weeks or more or less.

It seems like Vermont is the holdup right now for the online system. I'm hoping they put the energy into getting the 130s approved rather than updating the online system, personally.

Thinking about your name....cough and spit a hairball at these gits <smiles and says j/k> I think we just wait AGAIN and see what the mailman delivers to us in a few months or more perhaps???? Probably to look at this in a postive way, if we could access our case online which alot of us cant and lets say its a Friday yes, and we see that dreaded message about YOU HAVE RFE....well our weekend is shot to hell and our SO's are taking the brunt, this way we get mail, we flip out and just shoot the mailman instead. Saves a marriage i think...hmmmm its late I gotta go to bed.

Hang in there

I don't know much about luck.... but I would prefer to See my HUSBAND here not my CASE on-line laughing.gif By the way, my husband is coming in 98 days, yeeeeeeeey!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be 9 months since I saw him last and 21 months living apart. GOD bless immigration process!!!!!!!!!!! I sent him an invitation for his visa a week ago and now worry if he gets it ok. It seems like I worry about everything now. And don't get me wrong if I couldn't see my case online I'd be upset as well. My hubby called today to wish me Happy Valentine's Day! I live in the Russian Far East, so the U.S. is 17 hours behind so we are not just thousands of miles away but almost a day apart smile.gif Anyway we were discussing when would be the date that we get back together. I made simple calculations and came up with following, if our petition is approved in May than six plus months for NVC and embassy will be getting an immigration visa in hand sometime in November (best case scenario). If that doesn't happen and considereing the USCIS suggestion that it will take them 9-10 months to approve I-130 counting from the NOA1 date that it puts us to October approval and possible "come back" in March-April of 2009.
My automatic timeline adjucator switched from June 10th possible apporval to May 29th, it gives me some hope.
Folks, please update you timelines timeline.gif on vj bz makes the predictions more accurate for all of us who is still waiting.

I am still waiting for a NOA-1. I received a rejected application in January because I signed the I-130 on the wrong line. Now, I still haven't received a NOA-1 for the resubmission and I don't know if I get to keep my original priority date or if I lost 3 months of waiting and have to start over...

Delicia USCIS posted they issued NOA1 petitions for recieved before Feb.7. So you should get your NOA1 soon. I certainly hope that they will honor the early submission date. Because if it wasn't for their NOA1 delays you would knew much faster that you had a mistake on your application and didn't have to wait for 3 months to find that out. protest6wz.gif
Delicia
My check for the resubmission was cashed today. It has a different WAC # then I received on the rejection notice, so I am working under the assumption that I lost my Oct 2007 priority date.
Aussiewoife
How awful! I hope that they expedite your case once the check arrives--I have seen them do that in other cases I have read online. The first part is the worst part of the process. To speed things up once you do get your NOA1, get everything organized (double check everything, even ther smallest details) and use James' Shortcuts (latest version) on eveyrthing that you dare. I used them for everything but the Affidavit of Support, but others have used them even for that successfully. If you Express mail everything (or use FedEx or some such thing) and use the shortucts, you can hasten the process by about two months. It's worth the small amount of money for the Express Mailing.

Good luck!

QUOTE(HikerMark @ Jan 15 2008, 05:18 PM) *
Congratulations to those of you have just received your NOA1s or checks cashed.

Unfortunately for us it has been a roller coaster ride the past 24 hours.

Yesterday Kim opened her mailbox to find a big envelope from USCIS. She thought it was a bit big for a NOA1 and on opening it turned out to be a rejection letter. In her excitement back in October she had mistakenly dated the check October 2008 so they rejected the application. sad.gif

It has gone back in the post today with a correctly dated check and a letter requesting that they honor the original filing date. Hopefully they will look favorably on us and we can stay as October filers. When I first read Kim's email I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Having waited 3 months for the NOA1 and then to be hit by this. Even if we end up at the back of the queue and become January filers I will eventually get that elusive green card. In the mean time back to watching the NFL playoffs on Channel Five. smile.gif

Hi All

For processing estimates I assume we allow 8-10 months for the I-130 to be approved, but then approximately how long until Interview and final visa stamp?
HikerMark
Our check was cashed on Friday so I have had a look at the average processing times based on the timelines here. I have come up with the following estimates.

NOA2 received - Late July 2008
Leave NVC - First week of January 2009
Interview in London - Mid February 2009
Move to USA - Late February 2009

With a bit of luck the extra staff at USCIS will speed up the processing to the NOA2 stage so we will all get to the US quicker.

I still hope that October filers are going to be with their spouses for Christmas this year. If our petitions are approved in May-June from there it is another 5-6 months till getting a visa. I have read timelines of folks who filed in early July their petitions got approved in 3 months!!!!!! Why weren't we so lucky? We had to wait as long just to get NOA1. sigh mad.gif

I really hope so - although I don't dare think about it too much. VSC has been so disappointing with the receipting delay - thye were very behind CSC there. Plus we still can't see our cases online unlike CSC. Although maybe if they are spending all their energy on cases and not inputting data into the checking system then yay! I don't mind not seeing the infamous 'touches' if it means a quicker approval!

I would like to start this thread for those who filed I-130 in October and November. We sent our I-130 on October 1st still didn't get NOA. With all this processing time delays published by USCIS it seems like it is going to take a long long very long time for us to get NOA.

Thank you for starting a this thread!!! I sent my in November and it was received according to US Postal tracking on November 12th but I did not get my NOA1 until February 17th and it was marked for November 12th and Ferbruary 12th. My suggestion to you is to call the 800 number or send a request for information on where your NOA is by Certified mail. That is how I got mine to finally turn up.
Good Luck!

Man! CSC is stating that I-130 are at July 26th. That sucks, but also not completely true cause there are a few VJ August filers with NOA2 and even a September filer with NOA2....so who knows what the heck they are talking about. But at least it was updated.

Heck I just saw a OCtober filer from CSC say they got an NOA2 from as a K1 filer, yet the USCIS site says its in mid August for K1's....so I'm still praying that my NOA2 is soon coming.

Yes, the approval notice is referred to as NOA2. Congratulations on your approval! good.gif

For all those people who can finally view there case online...has anyone received a touch yet...i know its probably too early to ask that since my case was just inputted on Feb 24th but this whole process is so torturing...I probably would have rather not see my case at all until I got my approval...i probably look at my case status every 10mins....I'm going nuts here.... wacko.gif

Well i noticed that 1 of the K3 visa that i sent (The Most recent One) has been touched!
2/24/08 on system
2/26/08 Saw change on date and today 2/27/08

I think this one will be closed, since i sent K3 petition on November and never received noa
and when i called USCIS on 2/25/08 and spoke to Official Vazquez saw on system that the address was incompleted
thats why i never received my NOAs and sent another K3 Application on february 12 and also never received this NOA.
They corrected the error, but told me that they cant send another copy of NOA.

IM SORRY TO HEAR that... even though it was there fault from the start.. how can they send a incomplete address?? i hope things work out for you quick..
Milton y Claudia
Well they had the street name shorted out, no number of my house.
They only had the correct zip code and city.
Since that NOA is generated by a system it will be sent because it has a correct City and Zip code.
But when it reaches to the local post office automatically will be returned to USCIS, since it doesnt
included correct street name and number of the house.

I'm assuming that even though we are Oct/Nov filers that if we received our NOA1 and it says received January 2008 then this is the date we should be going by for processing times?

My husband has called USCIS and told them that we sent our petition in Nov and they said they can not changed the received date which has been entered into their system.
