So, I am heading to Toronto over (U.S.) Thanksgiving weekend to visit my boys (husband & son) and I booked my tickets several weeks ago. Not thinking too clearly, a couple weeks ago, I finally decided to get my name change done on my passport (had just done my SSN and driver's license and bank and etc etc). My tickets are in my former name (to match my passport when I booked) and my new passport just arrived. Anyone have any luck changing the name on the tickets over the phone or should I just hassle with them at the ticket counter and bring my certified marriage certificate with me?

Try changing your tickets over the phone first. If not.... were you able to retain your old passport? I was told by one border agent that an expired passport is better than no passport at all, so maybe they'll let you through with the old one if all else fails.

No, I am a USC. The only thing I have in my former name is my old SSN, but its not a picture ID. I'll give the airlines a call today and see how long I am on hold tee hee.
