Hi all, wife in Japan got another letter from the NVC, AFTER case was completed on Oct. 20. We've called the state dept., and they say that we are just waiting for letter from Consulate to schedule interview. But the letter wife received today says the following:

The following information pertains to your interest in immigrating to the U S A.

The NVC has completed its processing of your case and forwarded your file to the designated American Embassy. The American Embassy listed below will contact you with further information in regards to your visa interview. Note that certain visa categories will not be sceduled for an interview until the case's priority date is eligible. Please do not the phone the Embassy where your case will be processed. You will be contacted when your priority date has been reached and a number is available. To check on your priority date, please use
http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi_bulletincurrent.html or useour automated service at 202 663-1541.
All beneficiaries that have a sponsor filing the form I-864 on their behalf, are advised to bring the most current tax documents and supporting financial proof that is current at the date of the visa interview.

Your priority date 12FEB2007

*If your preference category is IR 1 or CR1 and you are immigrating with your children(under age of 21) or your preference category is IR5 and you are immigrating with your spouse please read the following information carefully. If your family member did not recieve this letter with their name next to the PA name field, you must bring the original approval notice for their petition to the visa interview. Unless your family member's petition has been sent to the US embassy, there is no guarantee that your family member will be interviewed with you.

So . . . I called the phone number AND visited the website . . . . and still am very confused. What does all of this mean?
Thanks in advance for your help, and a 1,000 points to anybody who can explain it to me !!!

It sounds like this is just a letter aknowledging case completion and offering further information regarding financial sponsorship. Maybe someone else w/ more insight will come along, but to me this looks like the same letter I received after my fiancee's K-1 app. was already forwarded to the consulate....and it was just basically a letter to let me know that NVC processed and sent along the approved visa petition.

Good luck...it sounds like you're on to the "home stretch" of things.

It means that every case going through your embassy will get a number and you have to wait for your number to be called. Once it's your turn, the embassy will contact your wife and give her the date of the interview.
