Hello all that are at the NVC stage;

Now that we have three major holidays coming up (thanksgiving, christmas and new years), does anyone know how NVC operates during this period. Does things slow down? Do they close down for a whole week or only on the holiday day itself? Just a thought that came into my mind on my drive home from work tonight, day dreaming about going home to Mike. As you can see by my timeline in my signature, his visa is being processed and the next two months are optimal times for him. Even though his is a relative, it follows the same path as the CR-1 visa petition.

Any ideas or thoughts to share?

Some have reported interviews on the Saturday after Thanksgiving which is normally a four-day weekend for government employees so maybe they will be working normal hours excluding the three holidays to catch up on the backlog

They usually are closed on federal holidays.

They were closed on Columbus Day and Labor Day, for example.

I think they will be closed next Monday, too. (Veterans day)

Even though it is a federal and state holiday, it is formally observed in most parts of the United States only by government offices and banks. Some schools and almost all businesses stay open on regular schedules."


Most of the employees at NVC are employed by contractors, but the supervisors are federal emloyees.
