I got my Nebraska learners permit mid July, but due to circumstances i couldnt start my driving lessons at that point. Started driving lessons 3 weeks ago, so after 10 hrs of driving lessons i went this morning to the NE DMV to take my driving test.

The test lasted 10-15 mins, driving around town. The examiner was pretty friendly, asked me to do some right and left turns, reversing and lane changing, and a emergency roadside stop. He kept watching my speed, if i was alert while driving, what my stops were like...ie if they were sudden or gradual to let the driver behind me know i was slowing down to stop!.

He had me drive back to the DMV where he told me that i did really well and that i need to have a new picture taken

So, basically after 10 hrs of driving lessons, i am now a licensed driver

Isn’t passing the driving test here in the US pathetically simple next to the tests in some of the places in Europe? I was half expecting to fail my test on the first attempt and I didn’t!.. Then again it isn’t hard to fail when driving an oversized Go-Kart although nerves can always ruin it for anyone no matter how easy.

Claudeth and I were discussing the driving thingy again. Maybe I will sign her up for a driving school
