I apologize if this has been discussed plenty of times before, but I wanted to know some info regarding required documents needed during the interview in Mumbai.
Do they require the I864 again @ the interview? I have already submitted the 864 to the NVC months ago and according the website it says all docs are transferred to the consulate and does not need to be submitted again... My wife's interview is tomorrow and she is freaking out because people are saying they require the original 864..
Also, I'm hearing that they are requiring the last 3 yrs of tax returns.. When I filed the 864 to the NVC, I included only 2006, as it states they only require the most recent tax year. Now they are telling her there that they want the last 3 yrs.. if they wanted the last 3, why was I not given an RFE by the NVC??
If anybody has recently gone through a CR/IR interview in Mumbai, please let me know if I need to fax/express mail these docs..

as interview is tom ....i would suggest u to do exactly what embassy guys have told u do and submit those docs!

You have to express mail the required documents. Till the mean time you also fax it. All this must have been mentioned in the Pack 4 which your wife must have got. The NVC website says something. Mumbai Embassy requires all what you have mentioned.

I had Express mailed my full tax returns (I only have the last 2 yrs) & I emailed a copy of the 864 so she now has them in her possession.
I guess my true question now is, why would the consulate ask for more items than the NVC? What is the purpose of submitting the 864 and supporting evidence months in advance if they truly intend to review those items during the interview? I'm not trying to fight the system, just trying to understand why things would be different.

hi.if ur i 864 is signed by u in last six months then it is valid and if more than six months then uhaveto get a new one and when u submit the documents dont submit in parts
