Just called NVC and the recording now says my case was forwarded to MTL on Feb. 1!

Hi there,
I need to know if we need to send in two passport size photos of beneficiery with DS_230? I called NVC today to see why our case was not complete and the operator said that the beneficiery needs to send in two passport size photos to NVC it is a new requirement she said.

please someone clarify

Hi Pari,

Yes, there has been some discussion here about that recently. Apparently this is a new - unpublished - requirement from the NVC:

INCLUDE two passport photos of beneficiary for DS230 even if checklist doesn't mention it! NVC has added this new requirement!

Hi Pari,

Although they will send RFE, I spoke to an operator again and asked if I needed to wait for a letter in order to send two photos in..and she said that u don't need to wait for it u can just send it in...my question is should i send it in or wait for the letter?

also which address to send it in?

I'm so confused. We got a RFE because my husband messed up question #20 but it did not say anything about sending in photos. I don't know if I should include this with the new DS-230 or not since the checklist letter did not tell me they needed photos.

When I spoke to the operator to find out what the problem was (before I received the checklist in the mail) she told me the only problem was missing or incomplete info on one of the questions and she said nothing about needing to send in photos.

UGH... I just want this to be over with

Woo hoo buffalobound! Lots of good news here! I will update the table as soon as the rest of you guys give me the dates, this is excellent!

Thanks all support here.
I talked to operator today and found out that our interview date is March 20!!!
Now I am going to make a medical examination and schedule for ML trip. My husband and I will take one week off that week and drive to ML from Toronto. Would be an exciting trip......

Hi prg,

I will update your date on the table shortly, but wanted to answer this.

At the bottom of the timeline to interview table above I have put in a link to the interview letter you will receive from NVC. As bearmirus mentioned (in post 248 of this thread) the medical portion has just changed, so while this letter is from the beginning of January, the vaccinations etc may have changed a bit.

They don't include a medical form, you just need to make an appt. with the panel physician for your medical.

Oh right..I remember reading that. Luckily, my husband is immigrating..so we don't have to worry about that. I wonder what the other requirements are..hopefully he won't be affected by it.

If things continue they way they've been going..We should get the interview date around February 15th for some time in April, right? I'm the only one in January..

Hepatitis A is now required for children 12 month to 4 year old. The Dr. said this was just added last week or so.

Hi prg,

I will update your date on the table shortly, but wanted to answer this.

At the bottom of the timeline to interview table above I have put in a link to the interview letter you will receive from NVC. As bearmirus mentioned (in post 248 of this thread) the medical portion has just changed, so while this letter is from the beginning of January, the vaccinations etc may have changed a bit.

They don't include a medical form, you just need to make an appt. with the panel physician for your medical.

You're welcome. Both the petitioner and the beneficiary receive the interview letter. The interview letter was generated 15 days after the file was completed at NVC - so takes around 3 weeks to receive it.

I was actually referring to the 'completed' date at NVC, which for our file was November 29th or December 4th, depending on who you speak to at NVC. I was using the latter date in my calculation

I finally got the hard copy of the interview letter.

The letter was generated on January 25 and couple things that is worth mentioning (even to some already know this information already)

1. I did not have to go through any packet 3 /packet 4 process. As soon my case was completed, I was given an interview date at their discretion (to some, this is considered as packet 4). The letter DOES confirm that I have an Interview on March 17th at 8:00am.

2. When I spoke to the NVC operator, she mentioned something about "modified" medical information. But based on what I've seen from other VJers interview letter, I dont see anything out of ordinary.

Don't get excited about this post..it's nothing special.

I called the NVC and she said that the schedule interviews the 2nd week of the month but they don't put the dates in the computer until the 3rd week. I hadn't heard that before.
Anyway, I'm impatient and I KNOW that I have my hopes up and I shouldn't. Our case was completed on the 29th..the very very end of the month.

I don't like being the only one in January!!
Are there any lurkers?!?!? I need someone to compare with!

Hi guys,

So, I'm preparing for my interview now. I got the interview letter from NVC and I have some questions about what I need to take to the interview.

In the letter I received, there is a page headlines "NOTICE TO VISA APPLICANTS". This page lists the documents that NVC has received.

I'm wondering if I need to take documents, for which the status states "Yes/Document Complete/reviewed".

For example, it states:

OF-169 --- Yes/Document Complete/reviewed
OF-230-I --- Yes/Document Complete/reviewed
OF-230-II --- Yes/Document Complete/reviewed
PASSPORT ---- Yes/Document Complete/reviewed
FINANCIAL EVIDENCE --- Yes/Document Complete/reviewed

BUT, for

BIRTH CERTIFICATE ---- Original Document Received
MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE ---- Original Document Received
CANADA POLICE RECORD ------ Original Document Received

So... do I take originals for where it states: "Yes/Document Complete/reviewed"?

Do I have to fill out the DS230 again? By the way, whats an OF-169?

Hi buffalobound,

My understanding is that if you have already submitted an original copy of a document you don't need to resubmit it, they will return the original to you at the interview. For things like the passport, where you just submitted a photocopy, you need to bring the original. If you only sent copies of say pay stubs etc., you will need to bring originals.

Hi buffalobound,

Thanks! No, you don't need another copy of the DS-230, they really only mean things you haven't already sent to NVC - which is basically nothing in terms of forms (you should take your additional 2 years tax returns though, if you only sent 2006 to NVC with the I-864).

They will have your DS-230 in Montreal and will just ask you to review it and sign Part 2.

I'm assuming that it does, with my answer. I know what you mean though, on the checklist it says bring them anyway - even if it says NVC received them, this is probably in case NVC lost any of them, however unless you want to recreate it, I wouldn't worry about it
