Hi there. I am married to an American but I was left here in Japan because we are still processing my I130 application which my husband filed in the States last year. After 1 year and 4 months of waiting, I've learned that my papers finally made it here in Japan. The US Embassy sent me a letter last OCTOBER 18, 2007 asking me to submit a copy of my birth certificate, my marriage contract, a copy of my passport, DS230 part 1, and a written statement on how I met my husband. I sent those papers the next day after I received the letter.
My question is this, the Embassy letter states that it will take them months to validate the documents that I submitted. Does anyone have an idea on how long will "will take months" really mean? Do I need to wait for 6 months or so? What happens next after this? Is it already the interview? We really have no idea on whats going to happen to my papers from here. I'll appreciate any replies. Thanks.
