My wife is arriving Nov 18 from the phil's.

Problem is this.

This week I am moving into a new house. Do I need to inform USCIS or can she give them the new address when she arrives?

I don't want her greencard getting lost.

Thanks

Rick

Tell them! It's important to be completely open. Send in a quick note to the division dealing with change of address, and send an e-mail to the NVC mailing address as well.

Good luck!

Tell them but if you're smart, you'll make arrangements to continue to pick up mail at the old address if at all possible. A few weeks of inconvenience is better than dealing with a lost card. USCIS is notorious for failing to acknowledge address changes.

pushbrk is correct.
Legally you are supposed to notify USCIS within 10 days of an address change.
I think you can do so online.

Thanks guys,

I emailed NVC about the change and filled out the online change on USCIS.

And made arrangements to have the mail box monitored by the neighbor.

Good but realize you must not put in a change of address order until after you receive all mail you expect from USCIS. If you do, the mail will never make it to the mailbox at all.

lol.. WoW.. I just happen to have the same issue right now and I just called NVC to ask on what do..

Well the customer rep I spoke to just told me to call them when you have moved to the new address and give them the new address.. All documents will be forwarded to the new address then..

My petition is still in the process, but I was just preparing myself so when they get here we will have a place to stay..

Yes pushbrk

I had no plans to file a change of addy. Any Gov forms would be puked @ the post office then, as forwarding is not allowed.

Thanks for the info buddy

Hi Roserick,

here is the link for changing addy with USCIS
https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

The NVC’s e-mail address is NVCINQUIRY@state.gov.

Hope that helps.

NVC did reply and let me know it was ok to change my addy by email with them.

Do I have to do this now, or after I move to the new place? Cause I am moving to my new place next month..
