I used a personal check with AOS and didn't have any problems. I didn't see the famous receipt number on the back of the check though.

We used Personal check, just so we would know when it had been cashed...

Personal check is fine, USCIS has no problem with them.

I wish I would've used an money order only because they still haven't cashed my check yet and they received it Oct 17. I check my balance online but I don't necessarily balance my check book. Actaully, I don't even own one. So...now I have to make sure there is always 545.00 in my checking account.

Personal check is a) Just Fine and

Best because you can more easily track the cashing of it! When you use a money order, the money order company "usually" wants 90-days before they can tell you if the money order has been cashed!

I would recommend money order as personal checks still take some time to get cleared. My I-751 was approved in 35 days at CSC. I used M.O and they can be tracked too...

IMHO Personal checks are just fine. Ours cleared in no time, we were able to see when they cashed it and we can view both sides of the cashed check online so saw that it was transferred to CSC.
