I'm Mrs. Akindel
Ok I have a situation that I need some very serious help with. My husband once lived in China for about 2 years; On his way back to Nigeria one of his bags was left in a cab and his passport was now missing. He immediately applied for another passport but says he was given another passport number. Now that it is time for the case completion I get a letter from the NVC requesting Police Report from China. My husband has no record of what the last passport number was, he only has the new one. Is there any other way he can get a Police report just using his name and birth date, and where can we submit this request to. Somebody....Anybody if there is anything anyone can offer me. Please do so. Most of all I need your prayers, and words of encouragement. Seems when you take 2 steps forward the devil is yet there trying to drag you 5 steps back. But the Lord promised me that he would turn ALL my stumbling blocks into STEPPING STONES. I am trying to be encouraged. I miss my husband and in 1 more month we will be married for 1 year.

Why can't you do it with the current passport number and his name and date of birth? Did he have a visa to go to china?

Thats what I said to but he insists that the passport numbers are differnt, YES he did get a visa to go to China and Yes it was using his own name. I dont know what the problem is but they need to have the old passport number in order to pull any records from when he was there.

hi mrs akindele, first of all since ur husband is starting his uscis application with his new passport he shoudn't have include his stay in china since he cannot pull up the record of his stay, am a nigerian, nigeria does not have record of things, even the passport office in nigeria, and if u dont tell uscis that u live in such country they will never know, but that is gone, we have to look for way foward, the only thing that pop up into me now is for ur husband to go to china embassy in victotia island lagos, to explain himself if possible to go with the reqeust from nvc may be it can help, so the embassy can pull up his record every embassy keep a copy of ur bio data page of ur passport when ever u apply for visa even if they deny the visa they still keep it in their system, the second option is if he can go to the travell agency that got him his flight ticket to china, they can have the information too or the airliner, so i hope this can create a channel. may GOD help u in ur journey.

I am so sorry to hear about your predicament Mrs. Akindele, but we have to be proactive now. Like JeJe suggested, ask your hubby to think if he ever email or scanned his former passport. Any old travel
documents with the passport number. Also the suggestion to go the the Chinese embassy in Lagos would be a very good idea. I have you in my prayers and hopefully this would just be a stepping stone for you and yours.
