On my wife's birth certificate her fathers name is Darshan Singh. However, when i got the marriage certificate, on the certificate her father's name was Darshan Singh Sandhu. So when filling out the G325A i used Sandhu as her fathers last name.

Now I am worried because everywhere else like on her passport and school forms, her fathers last name is Singh. So when filling out other forms like DS230 or 156 I don't know which last name to use. Will the consulate make a big fuss if her fathers last name doesn't match on the G325A and 230 or 156.

Hi,

I dont think they would.

I would use the name as used on passports etc and on the form in the column for other names used, indicate how it is on the marriage cert. We had a similar situation as well and did not have a problem. I know, it can be nerve recking, but it will be fine, do not worry smile.gif

Hi,

For safety, I think you should go to your concerened american consulate and check out the options you have to correct your mistake by going in person they are open in mornings.

My Father's name in my Birth Certificate is not spelled correctly ... it ends with 'um' instead of 'an'.
Is that an issue? Thanks.
