In reading thru the James Shortcut V2, [found here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...st&p=885374], I noticed that under the paragraph "I-864" he says something about generating and filling out "Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data" - What is this all about? Does anyone here have any information or knowledge about this??

I don't know about anyone else in here, but I have not received such a document from NVC at all. I have already received my I-864 packet, but have no clue about what he is talking about here...

Anyone have any idea as to where we are supposed to find this, and is it required to find and send to NVC??

Any help from someone on here would be greatly appreciated.

it's no longer required... just send the I-864.

My case was completed on 2/12/2008, and Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data was not requested by NVC. I guess, its no longer needed by NVC. Else, it might be specific to some consulate. Those going to Indian consulate for visa need not worry.

my case was completed on jan. 24 i just sent release form just to be on safe side dont want to have any surprises later on good luck

It is no longer needed.

you can send them if you want, all they need is the current tax form anyway
