I asked a few friends, and I found out that some years back a family-friend was able to reschedule to an earlier interview date in Delhi when someone else canceled/rescheduled their interview.

Anyone here think (or know) this is possible?

i tried calling DOS & Mumbai Consulate to reschedule for earlier date but I was turned DOWN!!!

NOT POSSIBLE to reschedule for earlier date, unless you met requirements listed on website.

basically no choice so have to wait...
