In how many days do we receive the passport with the K1 Visa stamping after the interview (Chennai)?

Also, are there any good sites to get good air ticket deals to the US?

My hubby had his interview on April 13th (Friday) and the passport with visa stamp arrived in Hyderabad via courier on Tuesday, April 17th.

I booked his one way ticket on MakeMyTrip.com, after talking with a rep on live chat. We got the best deal there. But our situation was unique, because we wanted him to land in JFK for the EAD stamp, and then fly direct to LA.

My fiancee had her K1 interview at the Mumbai Embassy last week and she had the option of picking up her passport the same evening from the VFS center. However, she did not do that. Her passport was delivered the next morning itself by Blue Dart courier service.

Can we collect the stamped passport with visa from the VFS office same evening for IR/CR case to .... Because i am thinking to collect my passport same evening and depart for USA the next day itself.

Yes, you can get the passport at the VFS office but timings are unsure. My hubby went the same day (Friday) to the Chennai VFS office but his passport had not arrived yet. They told him to come back on Monday. Sometimes it is available the next day, not same day. You just have to go and see.

I would be careful Jigi, allow a week at least before you depart to USA. What if there is any unexpected event like holiday, strike etc., that could delay you getting the passport. My motto: better safe than sorry!

It's probably safer anyway to give a buffer time of 1 week to travel.
