Full Version: Is I-864 A required if I make well above the poverty income?

It says in I-864A form that

<<Form I-864A may only be used when a sponsor's income and assets do not meet the income requirements of Form I-864 and the qualifying household member chooses to combine his or her resources with the income and/or assets of a sponsor to meet the requirements.>>>

I do make more than enough to sponsor my mother for PR. Do I still need my wife as a sponsor? Can Some one help?

If I need to use my wife's income to support the case, then do I need her employment letter as well. I have her pay stubs. Would that be good enough?

Thanks

Mike

why make things more complicated?

Since you DO make well above the poverty limit, then you don't need to file the I-864A.

Is your income ALONE above the poverty line, or are you including your wife's income with your own to succeed the limit?

Questions are:

1) a) I do make more than enough to sponsor my mother for PR. Do I still need my wife as a sponsor?

1) cool.gif If I need to use my wife's income to support the case, then do I need her employment letter as well. I have her pay stubs. Would that be good enough?

2) If I alone make more than the poverty income, do I need to fill out the asset portion (section 23) in form I-864.

Can Some one help?

Thanks

NO no0pb.gif I-864A is only used in cases where you rely on a hosehold member to help make up for being below 125% povertyline.

If your income exceeds 125% povertyline then you only need to use I-864 and be solo sponsor.

I just wanted to make sure that is the case. Thanks guys. I do not want to show off anything to any one. In simple words, I do not want to impress NVC or any body. There is no meaning for any one to see how much my assets are unless it is absolutely required.

You only need to show assets if you do not have the income to sponsor (which you have, so no need to list assets) good.gif

hi

In one word if you make more than what is required, You DONT need any additional co-sponsor.
