helpsmilie.gif I'm a bit confused about the new DCF requirements in India and unfortunately the Delhi Consulate is no help. First I can't get an answer when I call on the phone and then when I sent an email I got a standard reply back that goes to everyone and DID NOT answer my question which is this....

The New policy for DCF in Delhi starts on June 1. I plan to move to India for a couple of months in the middle of May. I was wondering if those who arrived before June 1 would be grandfathered in under the old 60 day policy. I was also wondering exactly what they considered to be a resident...I already have a job lined up for the two months I will be there but I do have to be back in the States by mid-July.

Anyone know anything that can help me? BTW, I'm doing a K3 filing because we married last month.

Thanks for the help.

I do not think that moving in May will qualify you to file under the new regulations, but that's just my spin on things.

How do you mean, you're doing a K-3 filing? Have you already sumitted an I-130 somewhere?

You might want to look up Gary Bala, an immigration attorney who is very familiar with DCF ini India; he may be some help to you.
