Hey everyone! does Anyone who got approved lately know how long it is taking the NVC to do their thing before sending papers on to the consulate? We got approved on Oct 15th,and recieved complemetary copy of hardcopy(certified copy sent to our lawyer) saying that our papers had been sent to the NVC as of that date,if'n that is true any idea as to how long they are taking?
I want to call tomorrow but don't know if I should or should I wait a little longer? Any advise would be appreciated for sure! We are close I can feel it, I'd just like to know how close! HE1HE1HE It's getting to cold here in Alberta I want to go home to Texas where it's nice and still very warm!!!

K1's don't generally stay very long at the NVC.. they basically just pass right through on their way to the consulate...

Traditionally most K1s going to the Canadian consulates don't get held up in any extra processing at NVC. I'd guess that they're getting a large number of petitions going through their hub right now though, so it might take longer than normal. From what people are currently seeing, the NVC is taking about a month to whip through petitions before sending them off to the consulates.

We got our K1 petition approved on 9/28/2007. Its been nearly a month, and the NVC still has no record of receiving our case. Wonder what's taking so long to get there.

Ours was approved on Sept 27. I posted a topic bout it this morning.

When I called the NVC on Monday to find out they got our petition and gave me our new case number, she said to allow 2-4 weeks to get it to the consulate.
Past files have gotten there way faster.
Especially overseas ones.
It seems like Canadians are at the bottom of the speedy delivery list...bleh.

However, I did speak to a very kind woman there...that was nice.

The emails I have recently received from the Montreal U.S. consulate are saying to allow 4-8 months for an interview...that they are very busy...a large number of cases, etc etc.
The timelines of K1 people from Canada though show that it is not taking as long as it did a few months a go.

Maybe we are just at the "wrong" timing of things. sigh

Ah patience young grasshopper...I tell myself every day.

Last time I looked at the processing times (I've stopped because it is just too depressing), the total time from NOA2 to NVC receives to NVC sends to consulate to consulate receives was around 38 days. I don't know if it has sped up since then. I hope so!

Thanks everyone for the input I called got the automated thingy but no sign of our papers yet or maybe I should have talk to someone oh well I'll keep checking from time to time it will be 2 weeks Monday but lawyer says give it at least 3o days before they can check into it honestly why does the gov. have to move soooo dam slow, in this day and age you'd think with our tech things would be quicker, gotta love love the computer age,huh oh ya yhey are still doin it the old way!!!

Our I 129F was approved on Sept 27 and was sent to NVC. I spoke to NVC on Nov 7/07 and was informed that it had been forwarded to MTL that day. All total, it was 40 days from CSC to NVC. Now I'm waiting for package 3 from MTL, which, when looking at others should be about 10 - 14 days.

How sad is their processing time now? We got our NOA2 on June 5th, NVC case number on June 19th. 2 weeks from CSC to NVC acknowledgment.

So it is now taking them three times as long. Blah.
