Happy Sunday everyone!

I'm still sleepy.........need coffee energetic.gif
MrsAmera
Good morning! ^ guess what you're husband is coming on my birthday!!!!!! I am so excited I love my birthday! Youssef told me that he has been saving money and so this year my present is a "real" wedding ring! I get to pick it out and I just haven't been able to decide yet what I want - I think that on one of his next days off we'll go look for something. I really like white gold but I'm torn and starting to think I might like yellow gold.....Argh! We'll see. Not much to do today - I'm cleaning upthe house and my old college room mate is in town for the week. I'm also experimenting with a "moroccan barbeque sauce" We'll see how that turns out. I got a bunch of beef ribs to experiment with lol!

Good morning, I woke up with one HUGE headache headbonk.gif . Parents are coming to visit today.
Sparrow, as soon as my parents leave i'll be getting out my notebooks and stuff i have saved on computer to ORGANIZE girlwerewolf2xn.gif (by the way, writings on my computer is saved in email so i have to sort that out, but i got your message, and i think i'll do the same as in writing them in smaller parts and in the end putting them in order. If you have yahoo or msn i have the same id as here, you can add me. I had some ideas (i've been wanting to write about me from 3 years back) of how i wanted to write mine but i want to know what you would suggest be better. By the way, I'm still trying to find out how to use the blog laughing.gif I need a few hours to get familiar with it. It took me a while to get used to this forum too! i'm sooooooo not knowledged in that!

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

Hugs,

Happy Sunday everyone.

Amera- I am making beef ribs for dinner too! I'm not sure about the sauce yet though.

Have a good one.
sara535
I dont know how to cook beef ribs, someone post up a recipe so I can try it too!
sarah and hicham
I usually just season the beef ribs with a blended seasoning or salt and pepper and put them on a sheetpan in the oven covered with foil on about 250-300 degrees for a couple of hours until they are tender but still juicy. you can baste them with their juices to keep them moist if needed. Then I will grill them for 10 minutes or so and put some barbecue sauce on them and eat up.

whoo hoo Friday is baby day for Sara!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif You have to appoint someone to come here and tell us when the baby's born!!!

House smells AMAZING!!! My oldest went to two football games today so me and the lil one went food shopping and I have a chicken boiling and I sauteed some carrots, onions and celery with fresh thyme and it smells so good! She has a really bad cold so homemade chicken soup is about to come to the rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My nana used to put kayro syrup and bells seasoning in it so I think I'll try that this time.

Do beef ribs taste as good as pork ribs do? I miss my ribs. sad.gif I used to marinate them overnight in olive oil, tons of garlic and lemon and then slow cook them all day in the oven at around 250.

Good Afternoon everyone. I just woke up. Man! did I sleep in. But I was up till 4 am talking with my honey.

Hope You All Have A Great Sunday good.gif

I am sore today all over. After the video shoot I went to turn the ultra heavy lighting kit and camera kit back in and no one was there. I called the prof and she said to turn it in on Monday and I wasn't looking forward to carrying that stuff all the way home and back again. Alas the soreness.

In other news I don't know what to make of these pix I got in an email from my sister in law. There was no text just these pix. Anyone?

Also congrats to Sara on the baby inducing very soon! Pls have someone come post to let us know details! luv.gif

I've actually always preferred beef ribs.

Anyway, you can always get your baby backs when you go out to eat, even if you don't make them at home. good.gif
MrsAmera
I think beef ribs are more lean - I hate chewing on fat LOL! So far so good they are in the oven on like 275 slow cooking, I put a dry rub of a little bit of saffron, salt and pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cumin all over. Then I put some small pats of butter all over. and covered with tinfoil. So now they've been going a little over an hour. In about 45 minutes i'm going to take the tinfoil off and baste them with a sauce i concocted of apple cider vinegar (would normally use red wine but alas), brown sugar, honey, lime juice, garlic and onion powder, cumin, black pepper. I'll let them go awhile and then add a little more on top when they are done. I also made a rice pudding with raisins and pistachios. Baking some potatoes for soem double stuffed potatoes, and then some califlower/zucchini goat cheese side dish. That's all I got wink.gif

Ok, this is by far the most awesome backsplash I ever designed! It was installed last week and I was let in to photograph it this morning. It is made with 1x1 and 2x2 glass mosiac (at $60 a square foot).

im not trying to start anything but i really want to know - why do little girls have to wear hijab? (ie vs. women of age)

They don't have to wear it until they hit puberty and some are of the belief that they never have to wear it. I think that 1) the parents just think it's cute to dress them up like that for a picture and 2) some little girls just want to dress up like mommie half the time. I have read of a lot of women that say their little girl just wants to be like them but that when they get to be a certain age that wears off and they either keep it on due to their beliefs or they take it off.

Beef ribs are awesome. My slow-cooker 'recipe':

Tomato sauce
Brown Sugar
Apple Cider Vinegar
Salt
Pepper
Red Onion

Chop the red onion finely. Mix the tomato sauce, vinegar, & sugar & spices to taste. You're looking for something sweet and tangy, so start with the tomato sauce as a base and add the vinegar and sugar slowly until you get the consistency you want. You can also add cloves or nutmeg if you want to.

Pour mixture over:
Beef ribs

Put them in a slow cooker on low. Come back later. Eat.

It's good to have grown up with a contractor for a parent. happy.gif Lol! Labor costs are a non-issue. Not to mention sourcing of great materials. We do (almost) everything ourselves here. Only renovation we didn't do - was the roof & siding. (bleh, too much work - let a pro handle it.)

If you're willing - grab a book, and learn how to slap that stuff up yourself. A great looking ... uh, I still like to call it those tiles on the wall behind the stove lol ... is only as expensive as how much work as you're willing to put into it. wink.gif

* And you can still afford to have someone with some good design skills draw a nice one up for you! biggrin.gif

the tile is what is expensive. those glass tiles are pricey. however here is a little trick, my husband bought clear tiles which are WAY cheaper and he spray painted the back of them to achieve the color! it would work with any color, ours is gray and we dont have a pattern but we have a very bright colored kitchen so we really cant. but you cant tell these tiles are spraypainted they just look like grey glass tiles!
