Hi everybody!!! I am a permanent resident(have green card) but I do not have a US citizenship yet.I am wondering if there is a way to bring my girlfriend to US through fiancee visa?

Only US citizens can file (I-129F) for K-Visas.

You have 2 options, become a US Citizen, (you can file for Citizenship 5 years after becoming an LPR) And then file the I-129F

OR you can travel to Russia and marry her there, and then return to USA and file an I-130 for your spouse. LPR's can file I-130. You will be then waiting a few years for a visa number to get assigned. If during the wait you become a US Citizen, you can then inform USCIS and NVC of the status change and they will change the petition from F-2 class to IR class and assign a visa number to the case.

Won't work unless the OP is a US Citizen. The OP could file the petition there, but will loose his LPR status while waiting for a visa number to come up for his spouse.

What is the K-mart shoppers thing, some kind of secret code?

Anyways if the OP is a H1-b visa worker, he can go there get married, fly home and file for her from the USA. That will take a about months as opposed to years.

Are you sure? I thought it didn't matter what type of PR status you had and that filing at as a PR, no matter what visa you entered on, meant waiting years instead of months as a USC does.

MargotDarko,

Not all visa types work as marriage-based petitions. You may wish to familiarise yourself with other immigration options. H visas are employment-based and permit beneficiaries, in the case of an H1-b, the beneficiary would be here on an H4 visa. The H4 is not subject to the lengthy process that immigrants face. However, the beneficiary is not permitted to work as an H4.

A work visa requires an employer willing to sponsor her.
