There's already a thread for April/May filers NOA2 to NVC, and another for April filers NVC to interview. Thought it might be good to have a place for May filers to post after NVC!
So, May filers, please post your after-NVC experiences, how long it takes your case to get to the embassy, receiving packets 3 and 4, experiences of medical exams, I-134 and so on.
For those of us who are currently waiting for NVC, your feedback and experiences will really help us when we get to that stage!

We got approved on 27th August and my fiance got a letter from NVC stating the case had been forwarded to the Embassy on 1st of October and telling us the LND case number.
Because of the postal strike delaying my receipt of Packet 3 I got the scans of someone else's packet 3 from Visajourney, downloaded the forms and sent everything to the Embassy by courier on 8th October.
I booked a medical for 24th October. I finally received Packet 3 from the Embassy on 17th October (Embassy sent them out on 5th October). I received Packet 4 on 19th October and have my interview booked for 7th November. Good luck to all the other May filers

Ah. I've been looking over this checklist from Packet 3 that demands a courier receipt for the interview and couldn't figure out what it was. After reading RosemarieL's post, I guess my fiancee or I send all of the Packet 3 forms to the Embassy ahead of time? I thought she just took them to the interview. Maybe it differs by Embassy...

Fred called me this morning telling me he just checked his mail and got something that said United States of America on it, but hadn't opened it yet. I was still half asleep and wasn't really comprehending what he was saying. I can only imagine it's packet 3!

We got approved 9/5/07, went to NVC on 9/7/07, left to the embassy 9/11/07.
Managed to get packet 3 from the embassy 10/18/07 and we have our interview 3/17/08.
I am going to be stagnant here for some time

SENT TO NVC: SEPTEMBER 12, 2007
INTERVIEW ALREADY SCHEDULED FOR: NOV. 19, 2007

We're working on Packet 3 now... *sigh* Almost got it all together just waiting for that darn police cert. and health record so he can book the medical to see what he needs and make an appt at the embassy.
I read someplace you can defer immunizations until you apply for AOS was I just dreaming that or is that something real?
It's Sunday...I woke myself after dreaming I was in a queue for paperwork, THAT'S how sad my life is now!

Hi Annette, you are right, he doesn't have to have the immunizations until AOS. I found this on the travel.state.gov website:
Vaccination Requirements All applicants for immigrant visas are required to have the following vaccinations, if appropriate, for age, medical condition, or medical history:
Mumps
Measles
Rubella
Polio
Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
Pertussis
Influenza type B
Hepatitis B
Varicella
Pneumococcal
As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.
Hope that helps!

Well, now my fiance is gonna need to order a court certificate to show that the charges were dropped from the ridiculous disturbing the peace charge from 13 years ago

THIS apparently is something not on the police certificate so I have been told he will need this at the interview to show what happened with the case.
Another 2 week wait to get this piece of paper.
I feel like the floor gave way when I heard that one, we've waited so long! A few weeks wait here, a few weeks wait there, it never seems to end I am so sad. Just started crying yesterday...

I know Annette, this waiting seems to never end :sigh: The good thing is that it will all be cleared up about the incident with the court certificate!
I too am a bit sad... Eric and I decided to ask for our interview to be postponed

we don't think we'll be able to put all the papers together on time because of this new job he's applying for. I know it's the right decision, and I was not planning on traveling right away after getting the visa either.. but still it's sad to be back waiting.. I am not sure how long it will take to get a new interview.
Its just upsetting because so many other couples (that are not international couples) we know, who got engaged after we did have already gotten married and/or moving on with their wedding plans.. and we can't do anything without a date

Well, I have good news, and bad news. The good news is that Fred received packet 4 today and his interview is November 21st. The bad news is that he has a plane ticket for that very day to come see me because we want to spend Thanksgiving together. I just hope the embassy can reschedule him as soon as he gets back. We never thought we'd have his interview already. To think, this started with everything going too slow, and now the last part went too fast!

Fred had emailed the embassy Saturday to tell them he couldn't make the our original Nov. 21st interview since he'd be on a plane to see me. They called him this morning, not reading the email because they wanted to change his interview to Nov. 28th, but he said no, I emailed you and said I would be in the US until the 9th of Dec. and they said OK, and gave him a date of Dec. 13th, which is the same week he comes back. It's so good to know when this will be over!

That's great that it was re-scheduled so soon! Ours was also re-scheduled for January.. but I need to call tomorrow so they can tell me the exact date.
I'm just worried because by january the approval of our petition will be already expired.. and I'm not sure how that works? Will the Consulate extend the validity of the approval automatically or will I have to ask them to?

The consulate is supposed to automatically extend the NOA2. But to be on the safe side you can shoot them an e-mail requesting for the extension. Better you do it yourself than rely on them especially when you are so close

Thanks! That's what I thought... I sent them an email last week asking to postpone the date and I asked what would happen if the approval date was expired. .. they said my interview can be re-scheduled until January, but they did not say anything about the approval
I'm going to call them anyway, just to be 100% sure.

NVC received our case two days after we were approved but it was stuck there due to the change of embassy and my address. Finally, it was sent out to the embassy in Zagreb on Friday. I'll call tomorrow, they should have it. I should get my package 3 right away, and i don't have a clue what should happened after that. I guess I'm going to have to wait for the instructions about medical and the way interview is scheduled because there's hardly anybody on VJ from Croatia.

Do you know which Doctors are authorized for the Consulate to perform medical exams for this visa process?
My instruction packet (Packet 4) says that I must present my passport and
letter of appointment to the Dr. in order to have the medical done. And I must choose a Doctor from the list they provided me.
It could be different in Ireland.. I don't know, but I'd check with the local Consulate.

See, this is interesting. In some countries you can get interview date fast, like I did (there is also low volume of petitions) but it's the same thing with Germany and I know there is a high volume of petitions because half of US military is stationed there.

I found on the Embassy website that our Medical Exam and Interview appointment has been set for Nov 28th and Dec 5th. Now it comes so quickly. It's nice to actually have a schedule to look forward to instead of the open ended waiting we were subjected to.
Congrats on the progress everyone is making, it has sure enough been a long Journey and a tough road to walk. I am sure we will all have our own stories and difficulties that we struggled with, but it is almost over. Soon we can relax and enjoy our lives together with the one we love so much!
Good Luck!
