Well there isn't much you can do about it really is there, unless you get another job (I understand from your other post that you were working 1 day a week).

Nutty mentioned that you will look like a mooch on your parents if you don't supply your earnings evidence and that is his opinion.

How income from working one day a week will in any way prove that your SO will not become a drain on government resources and that you will be able to support him in the future - well personally I think it will carry very little weight - however that is just my personal opinion as nutty's is just his personal opinion.

The fact that you are a student is probably more indicative of that. It is what it is - you have a co-sponsor, you can only put on the form what you have smile.gif

Please refer to the poverty guidelines posted on the NVC website to see if this affects you.

If you lose your job before you can submit your I-864, you can't claim to be employed on it anymore... remember, it is an affidavit!

If that happens, you might need a household member or co-sponsor unless you get another job which will provide enough income to maintain yourselves above the applicable minimum income level.

Bear in mind, the household member or co-sponsor can be the sole source of income if necessary. Actually, that is precisely how my case is... sponsor is unemployed since _______. Therefore, household member's income on I-864A is being used entirely to satisfy the requirements.

una had posted here yesterday, she was only working 1 day a week and so does have a co-sponsor.

my situation is similar.... I've been unemployed, but I'm a full time student.

My father co-sponsored my through an I-864A... you can do something similar if someone is available to assist you in this way.

Yea you guys, as trailmix said i'm dependent on my parents and they meet the requirements for 125% poverty line i don't have any worries abot that, and I am a full time student also taking 5 classes, what I was worring about was since today my employer said they're closing cuz there is no more work is not my fault and I can't get a job so soon cuz is not that easy, so I don't know if it is going to make them stop this procedure .... unsure.gif

If your parents are providing the necessary support, your employment or lack thereof isn't really important, but you still have to sign the I-864 form and be jointly liable with them, in case you have a job in the future and they don't.

Nope, just checked "unemployed since ____" on Form I-864, entered $0 for current annual individual income, and included Form I-864A. Included proof citizenship (U.S. passport), proof of relationship (certificate), and proof of residence (driver's license) for the household member. Both parties must sign I-864A, BTW.

No special letter explaining why unemployed.

Yes, that's right.

The processing delays for this visa are keeping the petitioner out of work!
