Ahem, yeah, well, it's too early for real substance, but I've got one:
(a vent)
(No offense to people here in this darling Canada Forum.)
Why why why do people call their SO's the hubby, the wife, the girlfriend, the boyfriend....??
The is inappropriate for anyone you actually like...let along supposedly love.
It is disrespectful and totally unconscious for the most part I'm sure.
It bugs me.
Yeah yeah, I do need to make my yummy cuppa-coffee...
I agree. I've heard it all (ball and chain, battle axe, bird poo in my bird bath

, you name it). I realize it's supposed to be a term of endearment but unless you are close to the person with whom you are conversing, it's uncouth and inappropriate and plain disrespectful. I think that it is OK to use your SO's proper name, but condescending crap (prom queen, Hercules, Mr. Viagara) is not. This only applies to polite company. Please don't get me started on the whole familiarity breeds contempt bit. I'd go on but I'm starting to get a bit tense, and that's not a good thing.
Quick question, bread maker or old skool? One is much easier and the other is a much better way to relieve one's tension, what sayeth you?
One more thing, Google don't be messing with my Wikipedia.
