Ew I don't even know what's wrong with me. I just started crying a minute ago, luckily I made it to the washroom before the tears started coming down but I just got super sad all of a sudden and just had to cry. Once I did I felt better though. Odd.

You must have been processing something.

My rant of the day is employers who want to waste your time running a background/criminal check on you. HELLOOOOO I just got my background, foreground, middleground, highground, aboveground, belowground, and reach-around examined minutely by the most security-obsessed branch of your GOVERNMENT.

You think I have anything in my file that would exempt me from working at your little two-bit business that Homeland Security missed?! protest6wz.gif

Seriously. Where are their brains? Our EADs and Visas should be enough. We've already been certified squeaky-clean.

Thats what everyone is saying.

I can't keep my food down lately, I have been over emotional, and every other symptom. But we're VERY careful and I'm not "late" yet so ya.

But I don't feel pregnant and I am not trying to sound like an oddball or anything, but I just knew with my son, and I felt it. I ain't feeling it this time. blink.gif

So I don't think I am. In fact I told my coworker I'd give her 100.00 if I was, which pretty much tells you that I am not. I'm not.

Nope.

My Mustang arrived two weeks early. Happy happy right?! kicking.gif

Well I left the shipping yard this morning and decided, its a beautiful day - I'll take the top down.

Top goes down like a champ. The car is dirty from shipping, so Chris suggests when I get home to wash her. Well I try to put the top up and nothing. Dead. The hydraulic engine that raises the roof is dead. Grabbed out the car warranty - and of course its only good for Canada and the lower 48 states. crying.gif

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr . . . . . . . . . . sigh.

My poor husband worked the night shift and is still tinkering with the motor. He's happy he has project I think.

My MIL is such a snob. She said nothing to me last night and I even tried to get her into a conversation or two, she asked my son how he was, asked my husband how he was. I just wanted to say: "Yea I'm fine too! Thanks for asking!" laughing.gif

But I am not longer trying with her, and before I did try hard. But last night if she didn't want to talk to me, that was fine I didn't want to talk to her. I have always tried to go above and beyond with her, she'll always find something wrong, she'll never be happy, and I have a hard enough time trying to please my own mom, I don't need to please this woman.

It's so weird, I often wonder how it is to be her because she seems genuinely unhappy most of the time. There's her husband, her son (My BIL), my husband, son and I, and we're all laughing and talking and there's her looking off somewhere else. It's your son's birthday lady! At least try to look like you're having fun.

Miserable people really bother me. It must be so hard to be so miserable all the time. You don't owe her anything Nev and she's been such an ####### to you!

Since the summer my dad (senior manager), HR and his bos (the director) have been getting anonymous letters from someone stating my dad has a strange relationship wtih his staff (ie. they are all females and he is too touchy-feely), that the director doesn't know what she's doing, etc.

My dad is a SUPER happy go-lucky guy that is my biggest support in life. I'm definitely my father's daughter and when I left home for university it was really hard for my dad to deal with it. My mum said he even cried a few times. Furthermore when I left Canada he had a lot of reservations about it and wanted me to stay close to him. So nevertheless, all this stuff happening to my dad has been hard on him and made him a miserable SOB. He basically thinks his 30+ years with the government has been ruined, and if he wanted to be hired as a contractor post-retirement, after this gets round, he can throw that out the window.

So as I'm going home this weekend my mum was warning me that my dad has still been in an awful mood and generally just being a mean person. He never says much and when he does, it's been negative. I've seen it first hand in early September and it was just not like my dad.

My mum called me the other night to tell me that he FINALLY came home happy and brought her some home made jam from a co-worker. She said he was whistling. She said that when he heard I was coming home, it really changed his attitude. It was just nice to hear that. I really was not looking forward to going home with him like this.

I worked with my dad for 3 years and so I know exactly what he is like to work with. He is the NICEST boss! He always gives his staff more than what they have encumbered for vacation time and is just really easy going. I hope who ever keeps sending the letters doesn't feel very good about themselves.

laughing.gif - moviestar not even close. Unless you're comparing me to this Friends episode when Monica's hair frizzes out from the humidity. My face looks like its melting off. I've got a Jacko thing goin' on over here.

But seriously, I've spent the 3 previous years "vacationing" in Southeast Alaska on the rez (Metlakatla). Rainy, windy, cloudy, 13 miles of roads, and frequently the airline was fogged in due to bad weather and the ferry was broken down. I was due! Chris actually found out he got this job in Hilo 3 days before our wedding. I told him - "you're taking it. RIGHT!" biggrin.gif

I don't understand why stores sell dirty stuff.

We bought a big tv in a big box. The box is filthy, after Mike got through handling it his hands were black. Not only was the box dirty, the bag the tv was in was black with some kind of residue/dirt.

Then today we go and buy some outdoor chairs, just plastic adirondack chairs - they are covered in....something, not just some dust from being in a truck say, but obviously something had been spattered on them - all of them!

This isn't a U.S. thing - as you all know it happens in Canada too - I don't understand why retailers don't care. Or even delivery services, everytime I would get something delivered by UPS in Canada the bag was always filthy.

Or not. They didn't have another one, so they called a neighbouring store and they have one so he could go pick it up. Yeah.

It's 30 degrees here and we have done - or rather my Husband has done nothing but run around since Friday night, moving, cleaning, picking up stuff like hangers and pots and pans and a new plug for the dryer etc etc.

Plus, we have a car, so moving a 42 inch tv around is no small feat.

So he came home before venturing out again and I called Walmart and spoke with the manager - they will try to have one delivered to our house no later than Thursday.

Our internet connection is really atrocious!! It just went down again, that's AT LEAST 5 times today - minimum.

The good news is the portable dishwasher works!

I'm trying to not be too negative, but I needed to vent this stuff laughing.gif

Oh and the first time I went to post this, the internet connection went down again - luckily I copied it laughing.gif

Oh and I have now scrubbed down those chairs outside twice...making progress, smells like it's like miracle grow or something like that on them.

Ok, enough venting!

I have a similar issue with dairy. It is not a lactose problem. The milk protein molecules are too large for my digestive system to handle easily. Cheese, yogurt, and ice cream do not bother me as much because either the active bacteria has already taken a few punches at the milk, and cream (as in ice cream) has higher fat content and lower protein content than milk does.

Are there any other forms of protein that your body doesn't care for?

Kathryn41
Have you tried soy milk? It isn't exactly like milk but with the flavourings it is quite tasty and can be used in any other ways you would use regular milk. Just don't try to use vanilla flavoured in tea tongue.gif !

not that I am aware of.. did your milk problem come on kind of suddenly or have you had that problem your whole life?

I drink very little dairy, but take cream in my coffee. I eat plenty of dairy other ways though. I've tried Soy milk and it's very good. It's preferable to drink Soy if you're peri or post menapausal as well and suffer from hot flashes and night sweats.

*Marilyn*
my brother and mom drink soy milk and I can't get over the smell so I don't know if I could drink it...
