autumnchik,

Sorry to her that you have been having some memory fog - a friend of mine referred to it as her 'sometimers'. Just a thought - babies take a lot of physical energy out of their mother's bodies as they themselves grow. Could it be that your 'fog' is nutritionally based? That there is some level of nutrient or micro-nutrient that you are short of right now because it is supplying the baby's needs? It might be something to investigate and see if taking supplemental amounts of certain minerals or vitamins might help so that you don't go short.

That is a good idea. I am going to see my doctor on Wednesday and will ask him. I do take prenatal vitamins, but it does seem like the memory fog has gotten much worse in the last 2 weeks ... I wonder if it IS something I am not getting. Thanks for suggesting that smile.gif

I hope it's nothing serious but the only thing that comes to mind is gestational diabetes. It can sometimes produce the mental fog that you complain of and can progress as the pregnancy progresses and the hormone levels change. It frequently is worse in the third trimester and a sudden drop in blood glucose can be a signal that the foetus is getting ready to show. I'm sure you'll find out on Wednesday and, if it is gestational diabetes, it can easily be treated and is only a transient condition. good.gif Of course, the alternative is that your baby is really a brain sucking alien. blink.gif laughing.gif

Hahaha! I am actually leaning toward the brain sucking alien actually smile.gif

I did have the gestational diabetes test last month and it was negative, thankfully.

BTW, thanks everyone for advice and responses ... and thanks Crikey for reminding me this will get worse!!!

The memory fog is still here ... because I forgot to come back and read responses on this thread until now!

Good thing the alien hasn't taken your sense of humour. good.gif Crikey is right, it will indeed continue to get much worse, at least until the baby reaches 18. laughing.gif

That reminds me of the time I used to work on an IT helpdesk. There was this one lady in HR named Betty Reade who had wind whistling through her head due to the wide open spaces. She used to drive us absolutely bonkers, and we would fight over who'd answer the phone whenever her extension popped up. One day one of my co-workers had a complete meltdown after a Betty Reade incident. So the next day I brought in an old prescription bottle filled with tic-tacs, and a label on it which read "To be taken in case of Betty Reade emergency" or some such nonsense, and handed it to her the next time she took her call. It's the little things. laughing.gif

Hahaha!

Okay, I have a vent:

The Dog.
Does anyone here want an aging, muddy, smelly, shedding, lovable golden retriever?

I would trade him for the trouble a hundred feral cats would give me.
I am an animal person to a point...and I have come to realize that I cannot live with a dog.

He is like a horse and a pig all wrapped into one.

And he is truly lovable.
I am just a clean freak.

sigh.........

This is one of my many stressors.

Some of you may be familiar with Marco - the RBC account manager who is responsible for opening our Centura account.

Sooo I haven't heard from Marco since last Friday, when we spent 1 hour and 25 very boring minutes with him. So I called him today and left a message, not because I wanted to.

Anyway he calls back. Two things, first of all the Centura account should be opened by tomorrow - good - however - they will be mailing our client cards from the U.S. - will they get here before we leave? He asks if he should send them to us at my Sister's address in the U.S..

I ask him, can they not courier them Marco?? He says he doesn't know because he is new to this type of account - however he is going to find out. He never said he would call me back on that.

Anyway, the second component to this account is a visa card, no fee, U.S. dollar. As we previously didn't bank with RBC and we don't have jobs right now, they will kindly give us a U.S. visa (may even give us a $5000 limit woooo hoooo!!), if we cancel our CIBC visa cards (as well as showing them our bank statement from TD, my 2006 tax return, Husband's latest tax return and most recent pay stub).

The whole financial proof thing is ok, the cancelling our CIBC visas is not.

I now realize that the above doesn't really show how annoying Marco is! The fact is he is long winded - the whole credit card conversation - he had to explain to me about exchange rates and bank fees when using your CDN credit card in the U.S. - even after I told him I use mine all the time - etc etc etc.

Well, I had a doctor's appt. tonight and actually managed to write myself a note to remember to ask the doc about the brain fog. I was so proud that I remembered that and was thinking, oh goody the brain fog is less today... until I missed the exit to the doctor's office and had to drive another 10 minutes to the next exit before I could turn around!!!

He said that he feels the fog is due to lack of sleep. He called it "placenta brain". He did not think it was a lack of nutrients. On the plus side, recent test results have come back good .... iron is fine, etc. But sadly, I guess I need to just learn some ways to cope with the fact that I am an idiot nowadays!!! Today, my 11 year old client was even commenting on how much I was repeating myself in session. Argh sad.gif

Not to worry, Delicia. I'm sure their application will be held up for something else at another juncture. I find things tend to even out in the long run. As for your birthday.... lol at the bolded bit. Give yourself a present! A massage or a pedicure or a new pair of earrings.... but have them wrapped. Then head down to the local coffee shop, buy yourself a slice of cake, stick a candle in it and sing happy birthday to me. Then tell yourself to make a wish and blow out the candle. Bring out the beautifully wrapped gift, clap your hands and say "Oooh, a gift!" Then unwrap it and ooh and aah over the lovely earrings, and tell yourself you shouldn't have. Or go to the local restaurant where they give you your dinner for free if it's your birthday, and make them clap and sing to you! You can also order a piece of cake there and replay the coffee shop scenario!!!!!

(And my husband wonders why I don't go out and make new friends. Ha. I have far too much fun with me.)

No, I was playing world of warcraft unsure.gif

For some reason I feel kind of guilty that I'm not spending more time packing. We have planned to go and pack up our spare room like 3 days in a row and it hasn't been done. Now my Husband has to go out today as the 2nd cat carrier we purchased is in at Sears and we want to get it now so she can get used to it.

- Have to return the other one we bought, get cra refund cheque from my Mom's place, go to the bank, go to the RBC and deposit some money in the new account etc etc.

We really need a personal assistant to do errands and phone calls for like 2 hours a day so we can play world of warcraft pack more tongue_ss.gif

No offense anyone, but what is the fascination of playing computer games?
Tennis, anyone? biggrin.gif

The Wallpaper: yes, I like that suggestion, of either taking down the walls, hahaha, or hiring someone.
It would not be so ridiculous had it not been textured, painted, and in some places stuccoed....and there are three different types of wallpaper in the same room meant to all look alike: like a blue sky with white clouds. BLEH! Arrrrr...it will get down, or it will be the death of me. tongue.gif

The New Home Potential: perhaps, maybe, there could be a possibility of an excitable molecule in my sweetie's body. I have yet to find it except...ahem.
So I am jumping up and down, draggin him by the wrist to see what I found on Craigslist and that I spoke with the landlord and he sounds so cool, etc etc. look at the photos....and he starts with blah blah blah...nothing that is exuding enthusiasm nor positivity.
And I storm out of the room and plant myself on the sofa arms crossed fuming!
What a scene.
"Why, why, why can you not get excited about something? This place for rent may be perfect...perfect for us AND THE DOGGIE!!!!!!!!!!!"
(there, tons of exclamation points) wink.gif
So he is explaining that he likes it and that I should call the dude back to make an appointment, etc etc.

We are going tonight...but the difference is now I do not feel good about it.

Me and my sensitivities...or is sensibilities...or may be just plain I NEED PEOPLE AROUND ME TO BE ON FIRE!!!!
Switched on.

So, I booked my tickets home online through American. Two of the three flights are on United, operated by Air Canada.

So I call American tonight to find out how to reserve certain seats (ie ones with leg room, since I have a high risk of blood clots) on the non-AA flights.

After 15 minutes of dealing with their darn voice recognition software, I finally get an operator.
Who proceeds to tell me that he can't do anything, I have to call Air Canada.

Amy, here's what I came up with: powerwalking, overhead squats with no weight only a broomstick (try at least 50-100 reps), freehand squats (try at least 50-100 reps), hindu squats (try at least 100 reps), walking or regular lunges (be careful if you suffer from patellar tendonitis) and pistols (one-legged squats). Front squats with only a broomstick are OK (depending on your knees), as are Zercher squats. Squats are virtually no impact if done smoothly, no bouncing. Hang cleans, high pulls and power cleans are also OK if you don't leave the ground at the top of the pull. That's all that I can think of.

While Bee was steadily toiling away at work tonight, my in-laws decided to invite over for dinner their best friend's daughter who'd recently been in England for the past six months. Severely awkward and stressful for me, considering that she used to date Bee, and is considered with the in-laws to be the daughter that they never got to have.

Wow. Definitely a lapse in judgement there..... by all 3 parties. ((((hugs Nini))))

So, I booked my tickets home online through American. Two of the three flights are on United, operated by Air Canada.

Are you sure that wasn't a USCIS number you called? laughing.gif

If I had super powers I would invisibilize the tax threads. Every time I see one I break out into a cold sweat. helpsmilie.gif

Hey Mumsie! Thanks for the suggestions. I wish that I could do squats. They would be perfect right now. The problem is that my knee is killing me whenever i go into a deep knee bend like that. Sitting down is really hurting, as is going up and down stairs. I've had to take one stair two feet at a time! tongue.gif How silly huh? ~giggles~

How about using a brace on your knee or wrapping it to add some support while you exercise? Another possibility - and get yourself some knee and arm pads! - is to try rollerskating - not roller blading but roller skating if you have a rink near by. It is excellent exercise for a wide variety of muscle groups yet because of the glide doesn't stress your knees unduly - unless, of course, you fall! That is why you need the knee pads! (A pillow on the rear end wouldn't hurt, either!).

I could have used one the time I tried to stop myself in the roller rink bathroom and ended up in the corner underneath the sink. huh.gif

I'm going to try wrapping it, thanks Kathryn. I had thought of that. I'm just trying not to do myself any more major injury. I hurt my shoulder awhile ago and I just kept going thinking it would get better, but it's worse now! tongue.gif Oh well, you live and learn right! I've never been rollerskating before but it sure sounds like a lot of fun! Especially with a pillow stuck to my butt!
