Hello VJers,
I would like to know your experiences with getting Airline Tickets for your SO from Nigeria?
What is the best way or most inexpensive?
You know I keep running into the problem that you can't buy airline tickets from here with credit cards is that true for all airlines? Or is it best to purchase it here or what about wiring the money westernunion to my husband and he get the ticket there in Lagos? Does it get costly wiring a lot of money?
PLease tell me your experiences on buying airline tickets for Nigeria.
Thanks!
I'm Mrs. Akindel
All you need to do go to the website that you want to use and purchase the ticket on the site or call them to purchase the ticket, then send him the confirmation number , he should be able to go to the airport and pick up the tickets. its not that hard i have had several friends purchase tickets online for the SO to pick up at the airport

That's what I was thinking, but I have no experience with Nigeria. You can call the airline directly. It's the airline offices and travel agencies in Africa that won't take credit cards, not the airline corporation.

I used North American. I was able to go to the website, book a ticket and get a confirmation number, you will not be able to pay online for a one way ticket from Nigeria. The only thing is that you must!!! I mean must!! send a photcopy of the front and back or your id and the front and back of the credit card that you used to purchase the ticket. Upon check in your SO must show th is potocpy if he does not have they will not let him check-in or board the plane.

when I bought my husbands ticket to come here, I was also told he needed a copy of my ID and the credit card used to purchase the ticket, or he would not be able to get the ticket. After all the hassle of getting it to him, they did not ask for it at the airport. But it is far better for him to have it then not, just in case they do ask for it.

When I purchased my fiance's ticket, they took a credit card on North American Airlines. When I called to change the date of the ticket, they told me they no longer accepted credit cards for flights originating from Africa.

They told me the same thing about not taking credit cards. They gave me some speech, about the person that was flying and the credit card owner had to be the person. I let them know that, if, that is their policy it is rediculous. I called again and they accepted my credit card payment.

I also used North American oneway for my fiance now husband from Nigeria. I called the airline and they told me the same as We_Destiny that he would need a copy of my id and credit card. He did not have any problems in Nigeria at all trying to leave.
