My wife being from the Philippines I am curious if there are others out there who also love to eat the heads of the fish?

I am not the fan type to stay sucking on the head but I do love stews with the heads in them and the meat in the head is actually pretty good if you poke around. I don't eat the eyeballs though.

My pinay wife would kill me if I threw away the head.
Actually people here in Hawaii always cook small fish with the head on.
Mainlanders don't like the "poor" fish staring at them tho!
Eyeballs are only good for playing marbles .

my husband makes sinigang with fish head, yeah he loves the eyeballs..........LOL ! for me its kinda gross cuz ,well, anyway! hehehe! I can handle the fish da-ing but the pusit is soooooooooooooo smelly and gross! but I love my husband so I dont say anything about some of the food! hehehe.

Although! We have a fish called Whitebait here in England (I'm pretty sure other people eat it too, but is known as a delicacy here...) Really tiny fish with soft bones and they deep fry them (with heads and eyes still attached) in batter. I don't mind those. I don't think I could eat them without the batter though....

I do that too Nessa, if they're small shrimps fried with garlic I eat them whole, if they're big I'll remove the head but eat the rest. Gotta love those crunchy little legs.

I love the Head and Belly of the Fish specially the grilled Bangus (milk fish) stuffed with tomatoes and Onions Back in the Philippines everybody needs to hurry in the dining table just to be the first one to get that

Interesting.. I never saw Ann or any of her sisters or cousins eat the head when I was in the Philippines. So, I did not.

But I did eat the dried fish, both the full size and the little ones (minnows, lolz). They smelled really bad cooking, but actually had a very interesting flavor.

Probably because we're a sexually frustrated lot..................................................................!

My wife eats the head of the fish.I never eat the head of the fish at all neither eat fish all the time.Very rare for me to eat them.

I don't but I have. And the meat of the fish head is very good. Especially on larger, ocean fish. Grilled Tuna collars or smoked salmon cheeks are amazing. The meat is more delicate and rich in flavor.

I do love to eat fish heads. For me, they are the best part of a fish..

Not just an Asian thing. After I eat a couple of tacos with just meat in them, Homeboy goes to town on the fish and leaves a couple of clean bones. It's like he's making love to the frickin' thing.

Since I don't eat fish at all, I'm an obvious no.

However, I know damn well I wouldn't eat a cow head, sheep head, or any other kind of head. Sorry, but to me that is just WAY too disgusting.

Funny story about Fish heads.
I use to work in a deli and right beside the deli is the seafood dept.
We had some regular customers who came in pretty much weekly asking for fish heads.
This one time they came in and I was looking after the seafood department while my co-worker was on break. The customers came in and they had very thick accents and I had no idea as to what they were asking for. I thought they said "Fish Hats"
So when my co-worker came back, and me being so stupid and honestly not knowing what the customer was asking for I turned to her and said ...

"Cathy, do we have any fish hats?"

She busted a gut. To this day, she still bugs me about it when I see her.

I don't eat fish heads.

Now I really like fish...but I avoid the head if I can help it. (I've eaten Korean fish soups, though, where I really can't be sure the head was not in there, I suspect it was). My fiance, though, I am certain, eats the fish heads and .... I think there are certain soups where the entire fish, including the organs, goes in.
