Hello and everyone that knows me knows that my mom was fighting the cancer battle and today God took her home to be with Him. I am very pleased that she is no longer suffering and that she is at peace now. It is sad that she is gone but I very light hearted that she is with her maker.

I was very glad that my husband was with me and was able to hold me when I got the news. He didn't like the ideal that I was going to work but I explained that it was ok since I know that she is in a much better place and I am able to accept the fact that she was called home.

I will not work my counseling job tonight so that I can be with my children and family.

Next Saturday we are going to do a celebration of her life!

I lost my father last year at this time to cancer also. I am glad that you had your husband there with you. While thankfully, they no longer suffer, it's still hard for them to be gone from our lives.

I lost my mother a year ago this month. I got the phone call that my husband had his second interview the day of her funeral. It was really hard to celebrate without my mother.

My heart goes out to you, but you are right, she is in a better place.

My condolences for you loss. She is truly in a better place - it's been 6 years since I lost my step-mother (she raised me as her daughter since I was 5) to cancer and I miss her everyday.
