so weirdly after receiving the "missing docs" at the NVC LAST tuesday.. they automated says they got them just yesterday...
how long till they have it compleeeeete!!?!?!?

Oh! It happened to me too, but I stayed calm when he said that to me. The guy from NVC actually told me that I should work for them since I may know more than them looking at the number of times I called. I just laught it out now, but I was so upset when I heard it from him

I haven't had a rude operator yet - yet. But I did have that one who said 'did you call about this yesterday....'. Yes I had, but if I had received all of the information I needed, I wouldn't have been calling back (I didn't say that but haha).

It's funny when people get squirrelly doing their job, happens everywhere - when you are in say a technical support center and people are saying - "How can these people not know thissss, they call 4 times a week!". Of course if they didn't call there would be no need to have someone picking up the phone.

I have talked to Lisa & one more Rachel and both were patient ... as sooon as operator came on line.. i would forget all my questions... I would ask once.. the operatore replied.. and i would say thank you ... thank you and my call would end in 3 mins

I found out about my interview date the day after I found out my case was completed. YES it can happen!

Dont be so desperate. lock at my timeline. Last new information came Sep.17, since than , every day the same thing.I dont know where the paper is. It really is frustrating, but what can you do. Hang in there.

I called today the NVC and had a real person on the phone. She has told me that they have send a package of informations and documents out on sep.17. I saked her for more details and she explained that the documents are the DS-230 and the I-846. Is this usual that they sending all the papers out together. But I have not received it yet. What can I do. Its already more then 4 weeks ago....

Thats good news. If you are doing James Shortcut and have already made them on your own- I-864 and DS230, then you may go ahead and send them since they have on their records it was sent already been sent out. As per your question, it just so happen in your case that both I-864 and DS230 are sent out together, thats not the case for the most of us.

It doesn't seem normal to me Lilikoi, sometimes they are very slow getting something in the mail - they may say they sent it on the 17th but not REALLY mailed it until like 2 weeks later. Even so, a month to receive them seems unusual.

Are they being sent to a U.S. address?

Yes, hopefully today! Have you called and spoken with an operator or just using the IVR? Sometimes they don't update the IVR right away, noticed in the Canada forum here the other day, someone got an interview and the IVR still said - reviewing documents wait 8 weeks etc etc. So I'm just thinking who knows how many days it takes for them to update if it is approved.

Anyway, I did call yesterday, got another very helpful person - still no update though, still reviewing weeeeee!

I've not spoken to anyone today in person no, maybe i should eh, i'm starting to think they are getting annoyed with me calling so much. The IVR still says the same so i guess i could give it a go... although i think i've missed the best times to call haven't i? When do they close the lines?

I have gotten through every time I've called - morning, afternoon - never tried at night. Granted, yesterday I did have to redial 5 times - but that's no biggie.

And I was thinking about the 'calling too often' thing. Basically they aren't updating the IVR all the time, in some cases, if they did do that and we could rely on it, they would get fewer calls for the operators - so I've decided I will just call every couple of days.

I've tried 6 times now.... lines are busy grrrr, diverts me back to the IVR


edit: hmmm says they are open till midnight!! Somehow i don't believe that!

Yep, call in 11:58PM EDT (USA will be continuing on daylight savings until November 4 this year), wait on hold 5 minutes, you'll still get to talk to an operator!

WOW, i got another REALLY rude operator, and its clear they are making notes of how often i call. They knew i'd called friday and every other day last week, this woman was really rude. WAIT 2-6 weeks BEFORE YOU CALL!!! rar rar rar, what a b*tch, they don't seem to realise our lives depend on this and its something quite sensitive.

Girl, they did that to me too. As much as I want to be rude to them, I just stayed as calm as possible and thank them every time I speak to them. This is their job, and the understanding of every single day of delay on our case does not crossed their minds of the agony of being separated and anxiety to get the case completed by them.

You know what I used to do as my past time to keep my mind off of these NVC thing? Posts and posts some more on VJ, you will get the platinum member status in no time

It just really annoys me that they can be like that, i even tried to explain i was told the IVR doesn't always update and wanted the info first hand but she was still rude. And now i know they are monitoring the amount of times i call it makes it even harder to come up with a reason for calling... but.. i just wanna know!!!! ARRRRGH

I might just do that.. how come yours got complete just 5 days after they received it!? lucky lucky. I hope somethings not wrong with ours, can't afford anymore delays, i'm determined not to miss christmas with my kids again

I used JSC, and that was the original packet for the DS230. I sent mine ahead of time. I waited close to 4 weeks for them to review my DS230, and at one point misplaced 3 documents while on review. They asked to resubmit my DS230 electronically, when I refused to send them a new set of docs.

Do you know how long do you have to wait for interview once your case is completed?

Its a month right? I'm "hoping" they sort it out this month, gimme an interview in nov for early dec, well thats the ideal plan anyway...

Sorry you don't have an update yet! (me either). I know what you mean about the operators tracking how many times you have called.

Of all the times I have called I have only had 1 say to me the old - 'did you call about this yesterday'? And it kind of took me aback. I was thinking about this on Friday when you mentioned it and I said 'well call anyway'. At the same time I'm thinking I'm ALSO a little hesitant to call. As this is their plan - it appears to be working!

So, my thought now is, when I call again which will probably be today, if they say anything to me I'm going to say something like - is there a rule about how many times you can call? I will say this in the nicest possible way of course

If you are being rude to someone (the operator I got wasn't actually rude per se) and no one ever calls you on it - I guess you just continue to be rude?

trailmix...i truly feel your pain...HOW can they misplace or lose paperwork?? yes maybe we are just each an application amongst millions...but i do not think they realize that the paperwork symbolizes our loved ones and who we are working so hard to get here and be reunited with as soon as possible...
they somehow lost our marriage certificate...but quite frankly i don't know if they lost it or if they have it and its not what they want...because from speaking to three different people i got different responses:
one stated that it was missing
and the others stated that they have it but its not the original...WHEN I KNOW i sent in the original with the translation...

ugh...so much frustration...i only hope they find your paperwork and complete your case...as well as mine and for others waiting as well!! i am praying for you!

Hey Pris.. nah i don't think they've lost any of our docs.. i hope! When i call in they just keep telling me they have everything just to wait, and then wait some more, oh a do a little more waiting before i call. When they first received everything it took em 2 days to review and they said everything was fine, and these last bits i had to send in (due to them changin things) was just birth cert, marriage cert and police cert, all of which were originals and are clean. SURELY they are easier to look over. There "shouldn't" be any problems but i guess they are making us wait a lil longer for some reason... but hopefully it's the case of, no news is good news.. i hope! arrrrgh


If they lose any of our docs i will be really angry, haha my mother would KILL me if they lose my birth cert, my god, they don't wanna mess with her! hahaha
