Cuong: A photocopy or an Internal Revenue Service-issued transcript of a photocopy or an Internal Revenue Service-issued transcript of your complete Federal income tax return for your most recent tax year, or an explanation if it is not submitted. Your W-2s and/or 1099 forms may also be required, see the I-864 instructions for details.
Can someone tell me what is 1099 form is?A 1099 form is an information form that may or may not apply to a return, the taxpayer should know if they submitted one - a list of them can be found here:
linkDo we need notary on any of this stuff? No
How many IRS transcript do we need to send with the I-864 form?Just the last tax year filed is sufficient. If you look at the I-864 page 15, item 25, you will see that sending the two years previous to this is optional. The answer to this question is also in your question as marked above.
What else do we need to send? There are variables with this form. Does the sponsor on the application meet the 125% poverty line for the size of the household or will you need to use assets or a joint sponsor? Does the sponsor currently reside in the U.S.?
Really the answers to all your questions and more are in the I-864 instructions - you can find a copy here:
I-864I know this form is long and boring, but it is very important to understand it before you proceed. It's a good idea to get very familiar with it.
