My wife is coming at the begining of Nov and wants to start looking for work little after she gets here. I know the social security card will take atleast two weeks and Im not sure if there is anything else we will have to wait for. Does anyone know of any way we can get her social security # ealier and just wait for the card to arrive later?

What kind of visa did you file for, CR1/IR1 or K3? If it's CR1/IR1, she can start working as soon as she received her SS #. If it's a K3 visa, she will have to file for AOS and EAD, when either one of these is approved, then she'll be able to start working.

she will be getting cr1. I know she will once she gets her ss# but I have heard even though they say 2 weeks it seems to take almost a month. I was wondering is there a way to just get her ss# so she can apply for jobs then just wait for card to arrive.

You're right, she doesn't have to have her card in hand to be able to work but she does need her SS #. My husband applied for his a day after we got here a couple of weeks ago and he still hasn't received it.
