The documents (BC, etc) for the interview have to be originals or copies (photocopies)???I don't have any more originals, NVC has them and hopefully the Consulate...I really don't feel like making others...as a dual...it will take time...Thanks
samaci
If you already sent them to the NVC (as you would with any IR-1/CR-1), then they will be forwarded to Montreal with your case, and they will have them there at your interview. I did have photocopies with me just incase, but wasn't asked for them. When you get your interview package, there will be a checklist from them of the documents they have received and reviewed, and whether they were originals or not.

Just remember to ask for the originals back and provide them with the copies you brought. If not, then you will need to request the originals later via form I-884. There's no charge but still....

Yeah, they did hand me back my original BC and Marriage Cert at the interview.

i just wanted to point out that you don't have any originals.. when you order your BC or Marriage certificate, you actually get a certified copy of the original....

but if you sent in the certified copies to the NVC , they should be forwarded to the consulate in your package

Absolutely correct, they are certified extracts from the birth records/register (in ON it actually says as much on the form). Just don't forget to get those certified copies back at the interview or it is a six to nine month wait for I-884 to be processed and your documents to be returned. A word to the wise, at the POE you will not be allowed to retrieve your certified copies so do it at the interview.
