Hi everyone. As you can see from my profile, I'm new to VJ. My fiance lives in Chicago and we started our journey in April 2007. We received Notice that USCIS have approved our I-129F as of September 27, 2007. So now we wait for NVC to do their thing.

What I would like feedback on is this - is Montreal really slow at providing interview dates?

They are not AS slow for I-129F's because you don't have to go through the full NVC pre-screen, but they are SLOW....

Montreal for us was not that bad. We sent in our first application at the end of June, and we were approved on friday Oct 5. So it took roughly 3 1/2 months, give or take a few days.

You might want to check out the Canada forum.

Also there is a spreadsheet - timeline to interview for K1 and K3 visas going through Montreal that is kept by Liz, you can view it here: Montreal Timeline to Interview

The thread about those timelines is in the Canada forum: Montreal K1 - K2 timeline to interview thread

As you will see, based on the data on the spreadsheet, the current wait time is just over 4 months to interview for K visas (from the time you enter the Montreal Consulate wait list - not from submitting application to interview).

Montreal has recently scheduled many K visa interviews - it's very unusual, but good.
