Morning everyone!!!

Stomach bug day 2.....thought I was good to go to work but left after an hour. And most of that hour was spent in the bathroom So I'm back to working from home.

That other topic blows my mind.

Boy am I glad its FRIDAY!! this week seemed like 2 weeks! I accomplished getting the house decorated for Halloween. Probably going to visit some orchards and cornmazes this weekend. It looks like the weather is going to be perfect for it. I hope i find some haunted houses too. Hope everybody has a great friday!!!

Um.... I feel a little silly, but what holiday is monday? I work in a hotel which never sleeps so sometimes holidays just pass me by and I never notice

Friday--I had this long "I am leaving VJ today' post all typed out and then I said to myself, 'Self--screw him. If you leave VJ you can't be around to help others that might need support in the future' (small shameless plug for 'Jackies Corner')

So, I'm not going anywhere! I am sure my ex would love me to go away. But I am not. I love and respect Laura too much to cause her to reprimand me publically. I will behave and try not to say negative things about the one that tore out my heart and stomped on it on his way out the door. (one last jab---you said you came to America only for me----well, be gone then)

On a brighter note--------- it's payday! it's Friday and..........I have the day off Going to pick up Alexis and play in the park while her mother rests. Poor Jessica has something, either a bad cold or brohchitis. I take her to the dr in the afternoon. I would love to post current pics of Alexis (with her ears pierced!) but I can't. grrrrrrr

Hey Jackie! Sorry I missed Survivor last night! Did you guys chat? I was wiped out and fell asleep before 8! Gonna have to watch it online!

Having such a nice day off. Painted Lexy's toes and watching Sesame Street. That is about as much fun as I can handle today Now she is in my 'extra makeup' painting Make-up Art on printer paper. This entails writing her alphabet with my eyeliner and drawing pics of me with eye shadow.

ETA: In Italian, it literally means "pick me up". Just a little trivia there....I don't think it's much of a pick me up, but it is darn good.

The Trader Joe kind doesn't have kahlua, just coffee. I think. Oh gawd now I have to go check the box!

I was once introduced to tiramisu with a small taste of warmed up grande marnia. But I'm put off alcohol and smoking for life now.

I found the box. It has Marsala Wine in it. Who the heck puts Marsala wine in their tiramisu?????? I'll have to toss it now.

I think actually Marsala wine is the standard ingredient along with espresso.

I prefer kahlua though, mmmmmmm

OMG it's sooo good too! I should have known that it had something in it 'cause it had a little bite to it but I thought stores couldn't sell things with alcholol in them here. gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Now I'll have to find another dessert for tonight. My daughter even loved it!! lol no wonder!

I finished one of my 6 page essays for midterms next week so that is relief! One less thing to worry about. I'm talking full advantage of the computer lab this weekend to do my investigative reports and write my other essays and study for my midterms! I will be checking in for breaks from time to time! Whoot! Don't be strangers this weekend!

When I make it I just use espresso. I'll have to dig out that recipe and post it. It's so simple.

i have a fantastic EASY recipe for tiramisu without the alcohol.

Easy Tiramisu

Ingredients:

3/4 cup brewed coffee, room temperature
1 (8 ounce) package marscarpone, softened
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons sugar
20 ladyfingers
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions:

In a medium bowl, stir coffee and half of the marscarpone together until well blended and all of the chunks are gone. In a different bowl beat the heavy cream and vanilla until it stiff peaks form (until it becomes whipped cream). Beat remaining marscarpone cheese into the whipped cream until well blended. Add sugar to taste (you want it to be sweet, but not too sweet it will ruin the tiramisu). Place 10 lady's fingers at the bottom of a bread baking pan. Pour half of the coffee mixture over lady's fingers. Smooth half of the whipped cream mixture over those. Repeat layer with the remaining ingredients. Sprinkle with cocoa powder.

YUM... now, FYI, it's not really tiramisu cause its not made with espresso and there are no eggs in it... but its soooo easy and good.

ETA... sometimes i brew espresso, but when im really lazy i just brew the coffee extra strong and it tastes fine

hi everyone, just chking in. didnt do much today...lol but i have a sink full of dishes, not excited about that, id rather sleep.

so tomorrow night i am going to talk to 1 obgyn just to talk and get my hcg level drawn because i want to make sure the numbers are doubling normally.

i talked to my mom tonight and she told me if im not bleeding or having any pain i shouldnt really worry. i just have some cramps that come and go, nothing to one side or another or serious. i forgot what all this is like its been over 7yrs since i was in early pregnancy really, cause i had a really messed up ectopic in 2004 but it wasnt text book......weird.

sooooooooo INSHAA ALLAH everything will be fine. im not worried, not stressing, just want to make sure.

Light cramping is normal and even spotting is normal too so don't freak if you see that. I think it's called implantation bleeding or something like that. If you've had problems in the past i would definitely just take it easy the next couple of months and also get on some good prenatal vitamins. I hated them and had to take them at night 'cause they made me sick but they definitely help the baby.

Coffee on top of cookies,,,now that sounds yummy.

Just got back from taking Jessica to the doctor. She has bronchitis and sinuites, 4 prescriptions and a note to stay home from work.

I kinda wish I had TV at home tonight. The local theater is playing a play instead of a movie tonight, and my local video rental place is moving locations this weekend. Waaaah!

All the more reasons to focus on midterms.

I told Waleed to give me space for midterms because I would turn into a crazy lady and I know he gets busy and quiet during Ramadan anyways. At the same time I miss him. hmmm.... oh well.... that's how the next few months...years... may go with this visa process.

I second that. I had much better luck taking my prenatal vitamins in the evening because that was about the only time I could handle solid food.

im glad to hear some cramping is normal. really i run every 5mins to see if the unwanted witch monthly shows up...which was due the 28th...no sign THANK GOD, but really sometimes the cramps do annoy me and worry me. i havent wanted to eat much, but george is always tellin me to eat....alrighty then. i need to push myself to drink more water............also i notice that i cramp more after i eat, so maybe its gas, but its in my lower tummy, so who knows. ill ask the dr of course tomorrow.......im takin a prenatal vitamin already, from the first day i got a pos i started it. also im having some pain in my left hip already when i sleep on it....very weird.

as far as the gender, really i have no preference just want a healthy pregnancy and baby. maybe the gender wishing will kick in after like 12wks or so lol.

still havent decided if im delieverin here or in ny......we have the next 8wks or so to decide that since i was told its not really safe to fly until the second trimester........

I feel like venting and I hope that you'll bear with me for a minute or two.

Jamal and I were so looking forward to his time in Morocco. For different reasons of course, but nonetheless it was supposed to be a relaxing time for both of us. I know that he is enjoying his stay in Morocco and I am so happy for him. Talk to him every night and I can see how much he needed that. We both needed a little break - we live in a studio apt. so it can get "crowded" at times lol.

I was looking for the alone time to do some reading, TV watching and general decompression time. Imagine 30 days of no worries...Well, I guess I wanted it a little too much...

For the two weeks I am stuck with my mother and she won't leave until 10/10 - I am so miserable - I know I sound like a bad person but she is a little too overbearing and I feel like a stranger in my own place. Don't take me wrong I love her in my special way but I love her more when she is in FL. - It's all about timing - and she chose the wrong time to "bug" me.

Most of the evenings I just stay at work or wonder the streets of Manhattan lol So now after months of building my excitement I am totally bummed. If I had the some vacation time left and some extra cash I would just hop on the plane and fly to Morocco but that is not happening...

OK I feel better now - or not - I don't really like to feel that way but I hate to be lied to and being manipulated even though I deserve it as I allow it...

Hope that everyone will have a great weekend. I am going to school on Sat 9-3 and then out with my friends - something to brighten my days.

I can totally relate to the anticipation of time all alone with no cares or responsibilities only to have it crumble before your very eyes. My ex takes my kids every other weekend and I cannot tell you how many times he has called me on the Thursday before his weekend to tell me that he can't take them...again. I love my children with all my heart but when you have envisioned a clean, empty, quiet house and instead you get a ton of tweens running in and out along with a possible sleepover with said tweens giggling till 2am......it just kind of bursts your bubble.

All I can say is what I do, and that is to not have any expectations anymore of a peaceful weekend and more importantly to cherish each and every moment...even though some of those moments can be quite trying at times....because you just never know when it's all going to end. That may seem morbid but one thought that is always in my mind is of this guy who was interviewed on CNN almost every night right after 9/11. His daughter was in one of the buildings and this was during the first days when people still thought there was hope to find survivors. He described her as hard headed and told everyone how she used to fight with him, etc. When they finally admitted there were no more survivors he cried hysterically and said he'd give his life just to fight with her one more time.
