I was just curious if anyone can tell me what CIS could possibly be doing when they touch your case?
Our I-130 has been approved by CIS and was completed at NVC. NVC said that CIS requested the case back so they couldn't send it to the embassy. Now we've been sitting in limbo for over a month with neither agency telling us jack. But the I-130 was touched on 9/14/07, even though no one at CIS, including seeing an immigration officer in person, will acknowledge they even have it.

Seeing you file I-129F USCIS tends to hold and even sometimes recalls I-130 petition assuming you plan on filing AOS from the K-3 petition.
Since sometime last fall USCIS has been holding most I-130 petitions to save NVC and consulate the added work involved in the CR-1/IR-1 cases only to return the case when the couple file for AOS from a K-3.
Your profile and signature shows K-3 / I-129F filing.

Yeah, I thought about that as well. The problem is that the I-130 was approved 8 months before the I-129F. It was sent to NVC and NVC completed the case and was ready to send it off to the embassy but CIS recalled it. Can't get any info from CIS. They said that they did not request it back. Went and spoke with an immigration officer in Santa Ana and she checked with the storage place your talking about and they said they don't have it.
The fun part is we got an attorney involved, she said that the I-129F/I-130 combo might be messing it up, so she sent a cancellation letter on the I-129F 2 days before it was approved. If that gets canceled then we're really screwed I guess.
