I just got back from the embassy in London... that was relatively painless, just a lot of waiting.

They told me that the passport will be coming with the courier service (providing nothing goes wrong with the papers) at some point (not sure how long - any ideas). They also said that there will be an envelope saying DO NOT OPEN, to be given to the officer at the point of entry in the States... Can anyone tell me what's in that?

Also they said to take the chest X-Ray image with me... do they really ask for that?

Your case file is in the envelope. Don't open it. Your passport and visa should be outside the do not open envelope.

It contains all the immigrations documents that the consular officer looked over during interview, like DS-230, medical data, etc...

The POE officer will open the packet and make some notes, and then send it on to USCIS.

Nope. Only a trained medical professional could interpret an X-ray. And an approved physician DID already interpret it and write down his findings in your medical file, which the consular officer has read and approved. There's no more immigration need for it.

But Halloween is coming up soon...

Seriously, in the unlikely event you have some medical problem in the future, it's possible that a "baseline" x-ray might be useful to a doctor when diagnosing your condition. Since you already have it, it may not be a good idea to throw it away, but don't expect to need it for any future immigration purposes.
