Hi everyone, I am going over at the end of the month to get married to my sweetheart in the PI. I want to file a IR-1/CR-1 I believe since I live in the states in she lives there. But I don't see a application for a IR-1/CR-1 anywhere. Is this on the I-130 application? Or is basically just the same thing.

I have looked over the guidlines and what it's telling me that I have to send the I-130 and the G325, and I-864 petition in. So can someone clarify this for me. And what would be the advantage between the two. I am really strapped for cash. I am working on a minimum income here and have to try to do it the cheapest way possible.
thanks,
martinbr

Hi

You have to fill I-130 form with G325A forms which is for you and your wife. These forms are for IR1-CR case. The I-864 forms come into picture at a later date... nearly after 4 to 5 months... Start making more money mate if you want to get ur wife to US. BEcause you will have to show minimum income requirements which are above the poverty lines set by the USCIS. Best of luck

Basically, the I-130 is the USC asking for permission for their family member to apply for an immigrant visa. An approved I-130 means the approval to apply for the visa has been granted. Then the visa application goes through the NVC.

The I-130 (I-130, not I-30) is a petition, which when approved allows your spouse to apply for a visa in at a Consulate abroad. You do send a G325a (not a G325) as well as the other documentation mentioned in the instructions that come with the I-130. You do not send an I-864 at this time. That comes later.

I suggest you begin by studying the "Guides" here. Just go to the top of any page and click on the word Guides. Then carefully study all the instructions that come with each applicable form. After you've done that, please come back and ask any questions that remain. There may be many but at least you'll have a solid base of knowledge to get you going in the right direction.

There is an applicable minimum income for you, so you may need to upgrade your employment soon.

Thanks to all that have given me constructive suggestions. I have been reading the guide lines but still have to ask once in awhile for guidance. Some of the instructions are vague.
