Does anyone know how much notice is given before the Medical Exam is required. I'm planning on taking a trip to the US soon, and im worried i might miss the medical if i go, or even the interview.
My case should be completed in the next week or so at the NVC before being sent off to London. If anybody has the timing of the next few steps that happens up to the interview date, that would be very helpful.
Thanks in Advance,
Ed & Chelsea

You don't get given a medical date. When you receive the initial pack from the US Embassy, it will have instructions on how to book your own medical appointment.
Obviously, the later you leave the appointment the later your interview will be.
My signature shows my dates for using the US Embassy from the NVC. I got Packet 3 no more than a week later than the NVC saying they sent the case to London.
The date of your interview will depend on when is good for you as well as what times and dates the doctors has.

I heard from the embassy about 2 weeks after my forms were sent from the NVC with details to book my medical, I phoned up and was able to get an appointment for the next day, but I believe you can have the medical even after the interview and your visa will be apprtoved but kept at the embassy pending your medical results when they recieve them it'll be sent to you.

Research the CR1 forum for the information you seek regarding next steps after NVC.
As far as the medical goes, you schedule that yourself.
Anytime you travel while immigration paperwork is in process, it's a good idea to have someone back home watching your mailbox.

Further to this, if you happen to be in the US on the VWP and you get the mail back home regarding the medical, can you somehow schedule an appoint in the US?

Yes, you just ring them up and schedule the appointment for when you get back. Hubby did that this morning and he's on the plane now, with medical scheduled for Wednesday morning.
If you're asking if you can have the medical done in the US, though, the answer is nope. Only in London.

That's a shame...I know there are several dozen approved doctors in the Orlando area...

The only approved doctors are at Knightsbridge and Bentinck Mansions. Quite frankly, the arrangement sucks for people who are applying from places like Northern Ireland - but there aren't any exceptions to this one.
