hello, since the embassy does not reply to emails nor answer the phone often , does anyone know the fee for an immigrant visa ?? I was told 3 different things in the last few days and would like to know for sure so we can have the correct amount, if any.
Our interview is scheduled for Oct. 18th at 8:00 am, any help or info would be appreciated, Tom

You should have paid the immigrant visa fee of $380 to NVC already. There may be a small delivery fee, usually not more than about $20, that can usually be paid in local currency.

Thanks for the reply, but I have been told "100 dollars" and then again "zero dollars" by the same consulate so Iam a little confused, and the US Embassy in Phnom Penh Cambodia does not respond to emails and when you call you get a foriegn clerk who does not seem to know or care. thanks

$100 dollars is the non-immigrant visa (NIV) fee and is typically paid locally on the day of the interview at the consulate or maybe at a local bank (if the consulate has made such arrangement) . You are not getting an NIV.

Iam well aware of the type of Visa we are obtaining, Iam looking for clarification due to the fact that I have been told 2 contradictory things, anyway I will just wing it the day of the interview and be prepared for either a small fee, or none. thanks

Don't be snappy. He's trying to answer your question. The fee depends on the type of visa you are getting. NIV are very popular, since they are often faster and the fee for those is $100. The IV (immigrant visa) fee is $380.

I was not snappy. when I called I spoke with the Immigrant visa unit, so of course we were talking about an immigrant visa. I think the problem is that this particular consulate has only been processing IV petitions since febuary and they are not really well versed in the process yet. anyway for the person who told me not to be SNAPPY, I'll continue to ask questions and reply as I see fit, if you dont like my posts keep to yourself

I answered your question immediately after it was asked. K visas $100 fee are also processed by immigrant visa units at US Consulates. Unless you asked specifically about the CR1 visa fee, the person you talked to didn't necessarily know you were asking about CR1. Also, many Consulates use outside services to answer questions. They have little training.

If your spouse has enough local currency to pay a shipping fee of no less than $30.00 that will be enough. If your CR1 case cleared NVC, you already paid the IV fee. Check your paperwork to confirm instead of arguing with people using their own time and knowledge to help you. If that's not good enough, I suggest you hire an attorney and pay for their advice.
